Saw two series. Bad acting skills, and heavily CGI, which is understandable since it's a fantasy film. My two cents.

Saw two series. Bad acting skills, and heavily CGI, which is understandable since it's a fantasy film. My two cents. Admin What do you mean two series ,is this have two parts. So you mean TVB New generation actor acting skill are act better than them? chinaman : yes, actually I have watched both : 九州缥缈录 and 九州天空城 which are both are adapted from the 九州 novels. And each of them I only watched 2-3 episodes, and I could not stand it. 九州天空城 opening scene is about a man and his wife and baby who were chased and hunted down by a woman who used to love this man. So similar to 绝代双娇 / Gu Long's the Twins - Xiao Yuer and Hua Wuque's parents. But then this woman who chased and hunted this man...oh dear....her acting skill is really bad that I want to throw her off the screen. While the actor, he's a good actor, but don't know why the production team gave him such a weird make up and hair. This guy is a pretty good looking guy - saw him many times on Vogue magazines. But his make up and hair, with blue contact lenses, make him looked really really freaking weird And...he only acted in one episode, he had to had a face surgery to change his face and identity.... 九州缥缈录 : the story began with a boy who was supposed to be a leader's lost son. Something like that. It's in icy mountains. Therefore the people mostly wear leather and fur costumes. Some of their costumes remind me of the European films about barbarians/vikings. Actually, I haven't seen TVB new generation actors since I live in China, and easier for me to watch mainland series Mainland China have so many actors and actresses, and they're also in a HUGE range of acting skills. Some have top skills level, but some really have to depend on their good look to get the job. Therefore it's really hard to judge if TVB new generations have much better acting skills. Also right now many HK actors and actress also act in mainland series - such as William Chan who played in the Mystic Nine 古盗笔记, Carmen Lee in the Untamed, etc. And in China, their voices are dubbed. Therefore for those who are not familiar, they wouldn't know if they are HK actors/actress. And perhaps I am too fussy because I found out that acting skill is very important, while many of young people, especially in China only want to see good looking actors and actresses. Therefore...my opinion might not count

This TV series ended its screening in Malaysia recently. I watched most of it.
I found it interesting in the beginning, with mysterious references to many events. As the show continued, these mysteries were slowly revealed. After a while, the story rather unravels.
It may be long with many characters, but compared to Jin Yong's works, this is inferior. A long piece of work would, expectedly, have a few story arcs and sub-plots. A good story will weave these story arcs and sub-plots to affect the main story in some way. I do not feel these arcs achieved that.
In fact, it would probably make a better story if some of these arcs and sub-plots are chopped off, shortening the series to produce a sharper storyline.
My 2 cents on this story.
