The Lone Star Swordsman 孤星劍 Description Before hitting it big on the silver screen with Young and Dangerous, popular singer-actor Ekin Cheng was TVB's go-to leading man throughout the early 90s, starring in classic dramas like Rage and Passion (1992), Instinct (1994), and 1994 The Lone Star Sword. Co-starring top 90s actress Noel Leung, The Lone Star Sword follows the chivalrous adventures of a dashing, wandering swordsman whose life and love are upturned by a turbulent conspiracy brewing in the martial arts world. Joining in the wuxia romanticism are singer-actress Ho Yuen Ying in one of her few TV dramas, Noel Leung's real-life husband Chan Kai Fai, and Marco Ngai. A small puppet doll holding a royal secret sets off a wave of bloodshed in the Qing Dynasty. Asked by a prince to protect the puppet, lone swordsman Tuen Long (Ekin Cheng) finds himself fending off agents and assassins including Chin Sik (Noel Leung). Chin Sik's failure to complete her mission tragically leads to the death of her entire family. From that day on, Chin Sik relentlessly pursues Tuen Long for revenge, but as they spend more and more time together, she ends up falling for the man she intended to kill. Torn between the steadfast love of fiery Chin Sik and gentle Chi Lan (Ho Yuen Ying), Tuen Long knows not where his drifting heart and home lie. Matters of the heart take on life-or-death consequences when the dangerous conspiracy behind the puppet doll slowly reveals itself. Cast Ekin Cheng Noel Leung Lillian Ho Marco Ngai

Never watched this series. I guess it is because of the hairstyle. Look at Ekin's hair! He supposed to shaved half of his hair to become a real Manchurian!

I think back then they had the hair like that so that the actors don't have to shave their head for the role. I think this series starts off really good but I didn't really like the ending. I really didn't like Elaine Ho's character, very annoying.
