Happy mid autumn everyone!
Anyway, the temperature in Beijing dropped in one day after Mid Autumn Festival. Before mid autumn, the temperature was 18-29 degree celcius. After mid autumn, the temperature now is 13-21 celcius. And peoples in northern China believe that after Mid Autumn Festival, there will be 12 times of rain, and then the temperature will dropped drastically and winter comes. Believe it or not, I've been observing it since 2011, and apparently it's true.

Thank you! Do you have the Five Kernel Mooncakes over there? The five types of seeds/kernels are:- 1) Walnut 2) Almonds 3) Sesame seed 4) Melon seed 5) Olive flesh 榄仁榄仁 was both expensive and hard to find here, so I thought I would skip it. That would make my mooncake Four Kernel 四仁 instead of Five Kernel 伍仁 mooncakes. Four Kernel 四仁 mooncakes sound like Dead People 死人 mooncakes, which is very bad luck, primarily because my mother would kill me if I try to do so - that's really bad luck. In the end, I compromised. I skipped the olive flesh and used American Almonds, plus Chinese Almonds 南杏。 This still gave me five types of kernels and seeds, and saved the day.

i hope you didn't get any new burns/cuts this year as a result of making mooncakes! Alas, it is inevitable that I get burned when cooking the lotus and red bean pastes. That was despite wearing an apron. Very fresh burns A few days later - the blister broke, and it hurt like hell. I wish I can say I have the body and the pecs of Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime, but alas, I don't. Mine look more like before he started bodybuilding.
