I only remember that Shek Sau had a kind of martial skill that made him looked young. He was a sixty years old man with 30 years old appearance. Later during the duel with the six fingers demon, six fingers demon played a song that destroyed his skill. He became old just in a second. But the girl who liked him still liked him although in a sudden he became an old grandpa.

The cast is pretty impressive and everyone acts well; though the serial itself was not very popular during it's time. Not a bad series; I prefer it over Ning Jing's 2003 version any way.
Sek Sau (Dong Fang Bai) Yammie Lam Yit Ying (Tan Yue Hua) Lawrence Ng Kai Wah (Lu Lin) Francis Ng Chun Yu Sheren Tang Sui Man Chow Sau Lun Wong Shu Kei Kwan Hoi San Nam Hong Bak Yan Chu Tiet Wor Paul Chun Pui Chun Wong Liu Kai Chi Cheung Lui Lam Tin Kam Kwok Wai Ng Mei Yee (guest role)

@galvatron the six-fingered lute demon is a guy, according to the original novel. i haven't read the story, but a google search and a reading of the proper excerpt leaves no doubts. his original name is 黃冬 huang dong.

I have this series, but, have only watch 2 episodes. So far, I like it. It has all the elements of wuxia and fantasy (e.g. martial art that keeps on ageless). Lawrence is the typical hero in the making while Yammie Lam is your standard feisty, intelligent but sometime unreasonable girl. I used the word 'standard' and 'typical', but, that does not mean they are boring or uninteresting. I like them both. Just that these type of characters appear a lot of wuxia and part of the wuxia trope. The part of most interested to know after watching 2 episodes is - Who is the 6 Fingers Lute Demon (his backstory) and what is his agenda - How will the relationship Yammie Lam and Sek Sau progress. Side note: No matter how I see it, Lawrence Ng really cannot pass for a 18 year old or being younger than Yammie.

Found this on youtube :
I think I really have to watch this series again. They have Francis Ng in this series. I like him when he was young. He looks like a psycho when he's older LOL

Okay...so the 'lute' in this series is guzheng. Yeah...I believe how guzheng sound especially if played by 6 fingers would be really harmful for your nerve. LOL. I got series of headache in summer time, and when I hear guzheng sound, especially the sound produced with the rocking finger on the string -it really makes my headache severe. So I guess Ni Kuang put the 6 fingers for reasons. LOL

i'd never watched the series when it first came out, and now that the eps are being made available on YT, i've been skimming to get an idea of the story. typical ni kuang: messed up.

NK likes his stories to veer off in all sorts of directions that don't necessarily advance the plot but are merely designed to throw you off. i have yet to read his longer stories because the short ones were enough to prove i don't enjoy reading his stuff.
