I think Patrick Tse(Yeung Tik Sum) and Chu Tit-wo (Kwok Siu-tin) have sing this song in episode 1 in LOCH part 1 ,is about Yue Fei ,am i right on this? I do not remember hearing this song in TVB's Legend of the Condor Heroes, but it was one of the songs in the album released to accompany the series. But is is possible that this song was played with the end credits. This song is not exactly about Yue Fei. This "song" was actually a poem attributed to Yue Fei, set to music, sung by the late Roman Tam. The music was composed by Joseph Koo. There is prevailing controversy as to whether the poem was actually composed by Yue Fei. The name of the poem is Man Jiang Hong 满江红 - direct translation is Whole River Red. This is not the only poem by the name Man Jiang Hong. Another Man Jiang Hong, this time said to be composed by Yue Fei, was written BEFORE this popular version. This prior version was written in Yellow Crane Tower. The text is as follows:- 遥望中原,荒烟外、许多城郭。 The Roman Tam/Joseph Koo version is not the first time the poem was set to music. This is an earlier version. Meanwhile, this is the Roman Tam/Joseph Koo version.

some of you may not have listened to the original soundtrack/album that tvb released for LOCH83. this is one of the "bonus" tracks on it--not a song featured in LOCH83 at all, but talks about the great wall, so at least there's a connection. the other non-soundtrack jenny tsang song is a sort-of love song that's really weird.
i'm linking the concert version because it has the lyrics:

Had it not for Roman Tam, I would not have have known this famous verse at all! And I totally need the song for the poem. A line from it - 八千里路云和月 Eight thousand miles of cloud and moon, used to denote a long and and arduous journey, is often quoted and used as a title for a "Discover China" TV series.

I like this song and the lyrics. Roman Tam's voice sounded weak in this version though. I wonder if he was sick when this clip was recorded. One of the lines in this song catches my heart - 旧日城上个个好汉当中几多我姓 in days of yore, of me good men up on the Wall, how many were my kinsmen. I think it was well phrased and written. I presume it came from the mighty pen of James Wong. A by the by - 孟姜女 Meng Jiang Nv - how many thought her surname was 孟 Meng? Actually, her surname was 姜. 孟姜女 actually means the second girl (daughter) from the Jiang family.

chefying his voice got weaker as he aged, sadly. don't know if he was already sick by this concert. i'm sure you can find the original, "robust" recording on YT. EDIT: so, what was the eldest child called if "meng" means "2nd"?

so, what was the eldest child called if "meng" means "2nd"? Oops, I cocked up here. I had previously said that 孟 means second. I got it mixed up, 孟 means eldest. The bit of by-the-by was picked up from this book (took me a while to find it among my many books) and on this page, this was what it said:- As for your question, what is first if 孟 was second, the answer is this:- I cocked up, 孟 "Meng" is the first or eldest, 仲 "Zhong" is second, and 季 "Ji" is third. Hope this helps, and many apologies for my error. Confucius' name was " 仲尼 zhong ni" - I am not sure if he was the second child!

In ROCH the first four Shi Brothers were named after this convention. 史伯威 史仲猛 史叔剛 史季強
However, Jin Yong named the youngest one 史孟捷, which made me confused that 孟 ranked as the youngest for a long time!

One of the sub-themes from this series is Four Looms 四张机 - rather melancholic and a bit haunting, as it should be.
Meanwhile, this is the theme song from the third part of the three part series that makes up the 1983 Legend of the Condor Heroes. The name of this third part is Duel on "Hua" Mountain 华山伦剑 .

I don't remember this song in LOCH, but I found this clip, with YK and MNC, and the story is kinda a theme for them. Anybody can confirm is this part of LOCH theme songs?
Anyway....YK and MNC 1983 are the best until now. They really had those chemistry. Although the story is not totally loyal to the book, but who cares if the story turn up to be better?
