I'm watching this series. It's pretty good! I love how the producers were pretty detailed in this production. The setting was around 500BC. And they used a very ancient style buildings (sometimes with straw roofs) to depict the bronze age cities in ancient China.
For those who are interested to watch with English subtitles:

As interesting as the title is, apparently there are many prominent historical characters in this story. They are : 1. King Gou Jian whose legendary sword was found in 1965. The sword itself still has a sharp blade and shows no signs of tarnish when it was found. Not bad at all for a sword from around 500 BC. The sword itself becomes an inspiration for Jin Yong for his short story The Sword of Yue Maiden. 2. Xi Shi - one of the 4 beauties in Chinese history. 3. Wu Zixu - he's one of the great military strategist from ancient China. Some Chinese believe that the Dragon Boat Festival, celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month and usually associated with the poet Qu Yuan (屈原), actually commemorates the death of Wu Zixu, whose body was thrown into the river near Suzhou after his forced suicide. 4. Fan Li - later on he was knows as Tao Zhugong he's the first Chinese tycoon recorded in the history. He was credited with various books on business including The Fish-Breeding Classic (t 養魚經, s 养鱼经), the earliest known work on fish farming, and the Golden Rules of Business Success ( 經商寶典, s 经商宝典,). The later book, probably of a later origin, remains popular today. It includes 12 principles and 12 pitfalls describing the art of successful business management. - I managed to read some part of the quotes from this book. It is incredible that his advice on business still remain applicable after 2500 years!

I have to correct my statement that I thought " the producers were pretty detailed in this production. The setting was around 500BC. And they used a very ancient style buildings (sometimes with straw roofs) to depict the bronze age cities in ancient China" Although they used very ancient style buildings, but they made fatal mistake in depicting the Yue people. the Yue men at that time were known to have short hairs and tattooed on their body. This is the statue depicting of Yue man: Their hairstyle was pretty much like modern man.
