Recently I'm watching xianxia genre series on TV, the title is Three Lives, Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossom (三生三世十里桃花). It's pretty interesting and entertaining, but there are many things that's I still don't understand. I hope that the xianxia experts here could give me some enlightenment.
My questions are :
1. in 三生三世十里桃花, Donghua Dijun is described as a Budhist expert. He reads Budhist sutra now and then. My question is : did he born before Budha (Sakyamuni) or after?
2. He's said to be more than 400,000 years old. If he's born after Budha, it means that currently his world is million years ahead from earth. But why their civilization is not that advance?
3. the gods and celestials who live in paradise, they could fall in love, married, and have children too. So what's the difference between gods and celestials with human who live on earth?
4. the gods and celestials enjoy long lives. 300, 400 thousand years...and more. But they could die! During th war between the Heaven Kingdom and Demon Kingdom, some of the gods and celestials died too. Again.. what's the difference between gods and celestials with human who live on earth then?
5. so the human on earth pray to the gods and celestials for blessings, mercy, health, etc. But if the gods and celestials also facing the same problems (falling in love, sick, and even died)...then what's the point?
6. Some gods and celestials are young, some are old. Is it mean that they're aging too?
7. how many hours/days on heaven is equivalent to one year on earth?
Okay...that's my questions.
