Hi guys, It's been very quiet here for some time. I hope everyone is well and healthy. And I guess the most important thing is to keep us in good spirits and mood. so, how's your life during Covid-19 ? Mine: I'm by status is employed in Beijing. But since CNY (January) stuck in my home country. Have to work remotely. and it's pretty depressing as there are so many things to be done, but can't be done since I'm not there. Business is tough. So I spend more time reading and write since I don't go out to socialize. I write historical fiction to release stress. Have no musical instruments and my calligraphy/painting tools. I hope I still could play well/ write decently after more than 7 months of no practice at all. No haircut for 9 months. Bringing my own lunch when I go to the office, wash my hands at least once every one or two hours. Keep wearing my mask inside the office rooms. And in the evening when I go home I feel sore on my ears because of the mask. Wash my hair every time I go out, and it causes my hair falling off. Overall, it's pretty depressing, although I try to keep myself in a good mood. Gosh, I really hope to hear some good news for 2020.

Hey Admin, Things are not too bad. I'm not dead, nor extremely health compromised. I'm still employed. My family members are fine. Knock on wood. It is a real concern, because many people are extremely dismissive or deny that there are public health and medical problems due to covid-19. Even when people recognize that there is a problem, anyone can have moments of carelessness. I have to keep reminding my parents to be careful, especially since some of my extended family are being stupid about covid-19. Financial concerns are real too though, so I am glad that I still have a job. Work is sometimes harder. Virtual meetings make communication more difficult. There are lots of times that I wish it were an in-person meeting, and we had a board. Not having office supplies and equipment also is a pain. But these are all relatively minor. I can do most everything that I need to do.
What instruments do you play? Are calligraphy/painting tools expensive? Could you order any of these to use during this time, so that you can still do some playing and writing? I do not foresee this ending anytime soon, not until there is an effective vaccine anyway. Do you have a particular focus (time period, geographical area, etc.) for your historical fiction?
I badly need a haircut.
I am glad to hear that you are being safe. I go out just to pick up food or go to the grocery store or drugstore. A lot of times I see pretty bad public health practices, less than half of people wearing masks and no social distancing. I cannot help but think, no wonder the problem can be so bad.
Take care and be safe. Hope for some good news too.

i'm back to full-time at the office instead of working from home part of the time. the covidiots are making the 2nd wave imminent. the schools are re-opening, and i feel sorry for the teachers who have to look after the elementary children who won't obey rules about masking and physical distancing because they don't understand and the high school jerks who think they are immune.
it'll take time to adjust to this brave new world we have created, but humanity has survived worse. when we clear our heads, let's hope saner minds can effect better change and topple the morons who are so power-obsessed that they'd rather go down with the ship than try to save it.

Hi texture : I play erhu and guqin. I'm really worry thinking of my musical instrument over there. Calligraphy and painting tools have a lot of quality range. I bought online two calligraphy brush and it's really bad quality. One of it even broken. The xuan paper for calligraphy also different from xuan paper for painting. And the one I could find right now is low quality for calligraphy. Therefore it's really frustrating. Yeah, we can just hope vaccine will be available soon. Yes, I have a particular focus for my historical fiction. Spring And Autumn and Warring States Era of ancient China. I had originally planned to take a degree on history; but yeah.. Wow, 9 months no haircut! Perhaps...we just have to tied our hair, and if it's very long we need to make it like those ancient people? LOL

I hope everyone's doing well.
Thanks to previous measures Taiwan seems to be still holding up, so I really don't have time for my side projects (or I'm just making excuses).
People are kind of getting a bit careless (for instance, theaters are fully seated), but I guess due to the foreign travel restrictions and face mask measures still being upheld risks are lower?
There's controversy regarding on whether the government should carry out mass screening, and the supporters make it sound like Taiwan is covering up the real numbers of infected people(so...hospitals crowded and a lot of people dying on streets?), while those who oppose it say it's some mass conspiracy (backed by China, of course!) to disrupt the health care system by wasting resources.
The Mid-Autumn Festival long vacation is coming so it's likely another test of reality.

We outside Taiwan always praise Taiwan for its successful effort of curbing and handling the pandemic. Also the economy survey released data that Taiwan is the least affected by the pandemic. Never had thought that in the internal there are also controversies like that. Good to know that you're doing well!
