In part 2 Jimmy Wang Yu who plays the One Armed Swordsman, Fang Gang had retired from the Wulin world. He got married to the woman who saved and nursed him back to health after his right arm was chopped off by his sister from the same martial arts clan(*Part 1). He became a farmer till the tyranny of the 8 sword wielding bullies who started to challenge the Wulin world. They attacked and killed anyone and everyone in their pathway. They kidnapped the elder swordsman to force their kin to voluntarily chopped off one of their own arms so as to get the release of the elders. Fang Gang the protagonist trained the young men to resist the bullies. A fantastic story with lots of fighting.

I'm not an expert on Shaw Brothers or One-Armed Swordsman movies, but I have watched the first instalment. The first three were directed by Chang Cheh and written by Ni Kuang. The last was directed by Jimmy Wang and David Chiang and written by Gu Long. The last movie has the lowest IMDB score. Jimmy Wang is the hero in Films 1 & 2, David Chiang in Film 3, and both of them star in Film 4. The first two are related by plot: the second movie is a sequel. The third seems to be a remake of the first. The fourth doesn't seem to be related plot-wise to the first three. I like the first instalment (the original One-Armed Swordsman) but I must say the script doesn't seem that special to me. Ni Kuang isn't in Jin Yong's league when it comes to plot. The plot is simple and archetypal. You will like it if you like Heroic Bloodshed, but won't care much for it if you don't, to be honest.
