in the end of sword stained with royal blood (bi xue jian), Jin Yong wrote:
what does the verse above mean?

my chinese isn't really good enough to fully understand poetry, but here's my attempt at a surface translation:
long line of raven soldiers' heads under the dim moonlight ten years of armour interfering with peasant lives
this link (http://jinyong.ylib.com/works/v1.0/works/poem-16.htm) explains that the lines are excerpts from an existing poem (not originally written by JY) and refers to the weariness of warfare and battle.

I'll add a few points:
- raven heads (i.e. black hair) meaning that the soldiers are young.
- 兵甲 "weapons and armor" means warfare figuratively.
- 蒼生 usually includes not just peasants but the common people.
So maybe we can tweak the last line to: "Ten years of warfare interfering (i.e. ruining) the common people's lives"
The lines are quoted from Zha Shenxing, an early Qing poet of the Zha Clan (JY's own clan). His poetry is also used as the chapter headings of The Deer and the Cauldron. In the serialized version, JY quotes from another poet. In the third edition, someone on the Internet reported a misprint (緣鬢 for 綠鬢).
