I have been careless. I booked my flight tickets on line to Xi'an, and instead of returning on 9th November, I ended up buying a ticket to return home on 9th December. A whole month out! Anyway, since the ticket was from a budget airline, it cost me about USD100 to rectify the problem. A new ticket would cost me about USD150, so sadly and reluctantly I forked out my hard earned money. This trip had better be worth it. I have not done enough research for the trip, I shall have to dig through my book collection to see if I have anything on Xi'an. I hope so. chefying : My erhu teacher is from Xi'An. I can introduce you to her if you want to hear opinions from a local! Xi'an now has two subway lines. it's very easy to commute in Xi'an. I went there in 2009, back then there's no subway. but taxi was cheap, bus even more cheaper. you can join a local city tour to go to Huashan. It takes around 1.5 or 2 hours to go to Huashan from Xi'an downtown. Huashan is a MUST! Trust me...it's much better looking than Huangshan. And you can even go to the peak where H7G and HYS had the tournament in Huashan Lun Jian!

Just recovered from food poisoning. Still weak. But, thank God for the recovery and thank the doctor for treating me and thank my family for the care.

Chef Ying. Felt better than yesterday. But, still no energy. Very sleepy. Hopefully, will regain strength soon. I ask the doctor. He said it's normal. After food poisoning is like this.

Are you taking electrolytes to keep up the salts in your body? I am sure your doctor would have prescribed that - or asked you to go and buy some 100Plus (or equivalent) to drink. Yes, you would feel tired for a couple of days, but I am sure you will be able to "kill two tigers" after that. Take care.

Got flu. Went to see doctor and she gave me some medicine. The antibiotics cause some stomach problem to me And the other medicine, is so ridiculous. One bag of medicine consisted of 200 small pills. and per intake you have to take 100 pills. I don't know why they just don't pack the medicine 100 pills in one bag then?? grrrrrrrr!!!!!

Admin, maybe making you count 100 pills is part of the therapy! Anyway, take care, and make sure you have sufficient rest.

My computer is on the blink again. I took it for repairs, and they said the motherboard is suspect. Since the motherboard is still under warranty, I had it sent back. They said it might take 3-6 weeks before it comes back.
For the time being, I am using the old computer, and it is so slow!
This led me to thinking - I was fine with this old thing when I was using it before I upgraded my computer. So.. why am I dissatisfied now? Apparently, too much of a good thing is not good for me!

I think I may be watching too many movies.
Yesterday (Sunday) my family celebrated Winter Solstice Festival a day early. We ate at a restaurant, and the younger ones decided to have a look at the fish livestock in the holding tanks.
The thought that came to my mind was a line from "Gladiator" - if the fish could speak, they might be saying, "We who are about to die, salute you!"

New job, mixed feelings. 1. Past 3 years was crap (based on some skills) 2. Past 3 years I've probably accumulated at least some level of professional knowledge to impress naive young people who've graduated from university/master's program recently. 3. Decent company, wrong choice of job position, wrong location (1 hr drive, not considering traffic jams means limited quality time!) 4. Crossing fingers on another job I've applied.
