Hi everybody,
I'm ReinaFu and I'm here thanks to Galvatron who sent me an invitation on another forum.
I'm French and I'm a crazy fan of all martial arts movies, mainly the wuxia movies, series and Shaw Brothers' and Cathay's movies.
I'm also fond of musicals comedies (old American ones and the Shaws' and Cathay's ones), Huangmei operas and Cantonese/martial arts old movies.
I'm a great reader too, but unfortunately, here in France, there is no way to find most of the wuxia books mentioned in this forum translated in French. I found 3 books relating the adventures of Chu Liu Xiang that I bought (but it took me at least 6 or 8 years in order to get the three books!), about 8 years ago, I found 2 adventures of the Brave archer (Jin Yong, the beginning of the story) and it's only this year that the three following books (the adventures of Yanguo, if I'm not mistaken) have arrived in French here. I'm currently reading the first book of the Brave archer. I also have all the Robert Van Gulik's books in French, but that's all that I was able to find in French. That's a pity and a real shame that this genre isn't known and hence not appreciated here !!
As English isn't my first language, I apologize in advance for any grammatical or syntax mistakes I may make, thanks for your understanding.

Hi reinafu, Wuxia movies and Shaw Brothers' - that defines my misspent childhood! I am sure I watched too much of those films. It took me a long time to read the Chinese wuxia stories (in Chinese - my Chinese is not so good). To have to wait so many years for a version in French tells me you are both a dedicated and a patient man.

Thanks to both of you.
Yes, I'm patient and I'm a hunter too : I'm now trying to complete my Shaws', Cathay, tvb and atv collection, and also my Adam Cheng's collection, even if it means buying all over the world (as you can guess, there is almost nothing of these in France. In the 2000's, only about 50 Shaws Celestial were released here, and they are now totally unavailable, unless one buy a second hand dvd on ebay...). Unfortunately, it's very difficult to find originals, and it often happens that something I'm looking for is only on dvds-r, or in Thai, or Vietnamese or Cambodian language, but well...when one is a crazy fan, it's doesn't matter which language it is, since I can watch martial arts played by my favourite actors/actresses. However, it's easier for me to watch a series in Mandarin, because I'm able to understand a very few sentences in this language, and watching more and more original language movies helps me to improve a little bit my understanding of this language, though I'm not able to follow the whole plots...
