Okay, so I just copy some conversation with Chefying and SIuyiu..... Chefying : the title theme from TVB's Shanghai Bund made me think of pissing... Why? because : the first line of the song - wave surges, wave flows... I think of my full urinary bladder, and the waves inside it and I squeeze and the "tides of water" flow out... Chefying : the first line of ATV Dynasty song made him think of someone farting. Why? Because : the first line of the song says gusts of hot winds blowing... Now....perhaps here we can discuss and share silly or weird thought when you hear wuxia words, wuxia songs, or anything like that

大俠 is pronounced "da xia" in mandarin and "dye hup" in cantonese. when my cousin was very little, he said that it translated as "big box" (since the two terms sound exactly the same in canto). so, i can't see that term without giggling as well.

here's another: the actress 黎姿's english name is gigi lai. now, you have to understand both canto and mandarin to get the joke. her english name, when read in mandarin, sounds sort of like 自己來, which is a phrase in canto meaning "i'll help myself". an odd choice of first name, yes?
