一阳指 - One Yang Finger I guess...almost all of us know this "martial art" skills Inspired by chefying * I practice the One Yang Finger too - except that I use my middle finger, and I use it only when I am really annoyed. It has an effective range of quite a distance. I am able to evoke certain hormonal imbalance in the bodies of my intended victims from quite a distance when I poke up my middle finger.

i practise the er mo shenjian--and i'm sure we all do. not quite at the level of the liu mo that DY knew, but hey, we do what we can! the middle finger technique is exactly the long-range weapon as described above. the index finger one is for short-range attack, usually on younger cousins and siblings. and it produces a very interesting effect when applied to accupoints: instead of numbness and immobility, they giggle; but nonetheless, this technique does effectively render the recipient quite helpless and unable to wield a weapon against one.

I made a joke and said that I would use 18 Dragons Subduing Palm to open up a watermelon. And the result...it only hurt my palm Attention : do not do it on your own! by no means!

These days I'm exercising MMA, and one of the stretching really look like Ouyang Feng's Toad Skills. Next time I should take a pic of it and show you how we practice Toad Skills

I just started studying Feeding Crane Fist 食鶴拳, a style of White Crane preserved in Taiwan by the Liu family. It focuses on short, powerful strikes to the vital areas, generating power through the school's unique "Shaking Body Skill" 震身法 (think of a dog or bird shaking water off its body) and cultivating "Thunder God Power" 雷公力: when you let out that short explosive burst of power, there is a "boom" sound (I've heard it myself), therefore the name. So outwardly it looks like a "hard" style, but the power is all generated internally 內柔外剛.
You can see a video of it below. The master in the video is my teacher, Master Liu Hanhong. The old house in the video is the Old Liu Family ancestral house in Tainan, Taiwan, Liuying District. That's where I train. I just started last week. This Sunday I will do the formal ceremony 拜師 to be accepted as a disciple of the school. Since I'm so interested in wuxia and am writing my own and translating others', I thought it would be good to actually know what real martial arts is.
Also see this segment from the Hong Kong TV show Kung Fu Quest. The master in this segment is Liu Hanhong's older brother, Liu Changyi. who now goes around the world spreading Feeding Crane.
