The other day, I watched the Shaw Brothers film titled Perils of the Sentimental Swordsman 楚留香之幽灵山庄.
It starred Ti Lung as Chu Liu Xiang 楚留香, and he was dashing as ever. Loved his fighting performance. However, I remembered 幽灵山庄 (Ghost Mansion) from Lu Xiao Feng 陆小风, not Chu Liu Xiang 楚留香. Got me confused for a while.
I feel it was unfair of Shaw Brothers to get mix up these characters. Nothing wrong with Ti Lung acting in the character of Lu Xiao Feng.
Well, I suppose I could console myself that Shaw Brothers only mixed and matched Gu Long characters and stories. Imagine JinYong characters appearing in Gu Long stories!
Admin GL's females would eat GJ alive if they ever met him! HR could never compete with the likes of them, LOL!
Yes, I'm 100% sure for that. Perhaps only Lady Ma from DGSD and A Zhi from DGSD could survive when dealing with GL guys. What do you think?
hahaha! a zhi could give lin xian'er a run for her money, though poor ah fei caught in the middle... madam ma would become a formidable force in the GL world--she'd probably be some secret evil cult leader of some such.

If I'm not mistaken and from what I remember (I watched this movie 2 or 3 years ago...), Perils of the sentimental swordsman is really a Lu Xiao Feng's movie and my guess is that the producers put the name of the sentimental swordsman in the title just to get a little more money since the two previous titles had had a big success...

siuyiu: atumiwa 青 is most commonly translated as "indigo" in english, to match the 7 colours of the rainbow that isaac newton insisted there (he did it for religious reason; those in the art world know there are 6 colours of the rainbow).

yenchin: Recently I was watching Archive 81, there was this scene where a character in a videofeed who suddenly extended her arm out of the screen to choke the guy watching it. It made me wondering: What would happen if the guy was trained in martial arts?

yenchin: A similar thought caught me when I was watching "Kingdom" which was about hordes of zombies in historical Korea. How would Guo Jing & Co. fare against a zombie horde instead of Mongolians? To add the fun, zombie Greats retaining their martial arts!
