Hey all, so besides the story Forgotten that I'm currently writing, I've also got a lot of other ideas and have been trying to develop them. If you like them or think they could use some adjustments, etc let me know
This story's cultivation was somewhat based off Coiling dragon. I hated how most stories all they have to do is absorb a massive amount of energy and they can become a god. I feel that it requires insights into the laws if one wants to achieve a higher realm.
This is a working progress so there will probably be changes a long the way.
SYNOPSIS: Yan Shou is at the peak of his world, he had long detached himself from the mortal realm, it wasn't until he met a certain boy that he began anew to find the path to become a true god.
CHAPTER 1: THE BOY
Sitting by the window at a table on the second floor of the Lagoon tavern in the Capital, Mi of the Yin Kingdom, sat Yan Shou. He looked in like he was in his late 20's, wearing a purple Shenyi with a plain sword to his right, his face was was average and at the height of 65 inches. Yan Shou was enjoying a bottle of grape wine along with a dish of fried goose. Yan Shou had a relaxed appearance to him. The tavern was bustling with activity as it was evening and the men of the Capital were preparing to go to the brothels. Yan Shou was the only person within the tavern sitting alone by himself staring at the sky as he slowly sipped on the grape wine in his cup.
Yan Shou loved drinking alcohol the most, although he barely got drunk off of it, it was more for the taste and thought of getting drunk. He used to be an alcoholic, but after drinking so much, alcohol no longer had an affect on him. The wine Yan Shou was drinking was a 50 year old wine transported from the village of Huangjiu. The bottle was quite expansive, usually only the rich could afford to order a 50 ml bottle, since it costed 5 gold coins.
Yan Shou could be considered quite rich, for a man who doesn't have a job, but travels a lot. Yan Shou didn't like conflict, so whenever a fight or war would break out, Yan Shou would flee from the location as far as possible. Yan Shou could be said to be Ego centric; he didn't care for anyone, but himself. Yan Shou was a loner, so he didn't care about communicating with others too much. What Yan Shou enjoyed most was tranquility.
"Waiter, another bottle of your Huanjiu wine" Yan Shou shouted.
"Coming" the waiter replied.
"I hear that the Yin empire is going to war soon is that true?" Yan Shou asked the waiter as soon as the waiter arrived with his bottle of wine.
"Emperor Yin Neng has been eyeing the kingdom of Chu's gold mines for awhile now. I heard he plans to seize their resources."
"The current Yin empire has been degrading for the last thousand years, it seems they have become desperate enough to try and start war for resources." Yan Shou said to himself, as he slipped the waiter an extra 2 gold coins along with the 5 gold coins for the wine.
Yan Shou continued to stare at the stars as he sipped on his wine. His mind was wondering where his next destination should be. Chu was allied with the Wu kingdom, both kingdoms bordered the Yin kingdom to the west. Yin kingdom was a empire as 1967 years ago, their ruler Yin rose from nowhere and took over the continent. He was the first person everyone knew that had the abilities of the gods. It wasn't long afterwards, that very human soon found that they had the ability to control an element. After the disappearance of Yin, people started to up rise and establish their own kingdoms.
Because of the war was to be in the west, Yan Shou decided to travel east. At dawn, Yan Shou took off from Mi and started heading towards the city, Biyo. Yan Shou didn't have any luggage so he was easily able to just take off and start traveling. Even though Yan Shou didn't have any other clothing, he was easily able to keep his clothing clean. As he moved, there wasn't a spec of dust that could touch his body. Yan Shou's pace wasn't too fast or too slow. He moved past the crowded roads outside of the capital with ease. Multiple carriages and travelers were going in and out of Mi everyday. There were check points a long the way going out and into Mi. Outside of the capital walls, there were 3 check points. Yan Shou moved with ease as he moved pass the guards, it was as if they didn't even see him.
He glanced at travelers going towards the Capital being inspected. The Capital was very cautious and inspected every person going in and out of the Capital, but for some reason Yan Shou was able to easily walk pass the guards without being noticed, it was as if he didn't exist. Yan Shou just chuckled as he walked pass everyone as he headed towards Biyo. It wasn't long before Yan Shou had walked pass all 3 checkpoints and reached the the edge of the Ming forest.
En route to Biyo, Yan Shou stopped a few times, he wasn't in a rush. Yan Shou had hunted a boar and roasted it over a fire pit. The juicy fat from the boar was what Yan Shou enjoy the most. He had also stopped to fish at a near by river, although he didn't catch anything he wasn't too disappointed. If he had kept moving, he would have reached Biyo before dusk. Yan Shou had decided to camp about 1 km away from Biyo and enjoy the night stars as he floated above the tree line.
At dawn, Yan Shou continued towards Biyo, it wasn't far, so he was able to make it there within 2 hours. After Yin established his empire, he had a group of astronomers and philosophers create a time system. They established 12 months within the year and 30 days within a month, within a day was 24 hrs and within a hour was 60 minutes. The system was quite accurate and it worked for the continent.
Biyo, wasn't like the capital, but since it was a city close to the Capital, it had a wall with a check point. Like Mi, Yan Shou easily walked pass the guards and entered Biyo. The first place Yan Shou headed towards was the tavern. Biyo's famous tavern was called Dragon tavern, it only had waitresses and they were outfitted to appear as a brothel. For a certain price the tavern was a brothel.
Yan Shou sat down at a table at the window on the second floor. "Waitress, a bottle of your finest wine!"
It was only until Yan Shou said something, that the waitress had noticed that Yan Shou was there. "It'll be a minute!"
It wasn't long until the waitress had brought him a bottle of tiger wine. It was made from a herb, that had the strips making it look like a tiger's fur. The herb was a grade 2. The grade scale was from 1 through 5, 1 being the best. Herbs were a great medicine when cultivating in the Spirit realm, the higher the grade the better its effects.
The cultivating were ranked from Body realm, Energy realm, Spirit realm, Elemental realm, Imperial realm, Saint realm, Divine realm, Demi-god realm and finally God realm. At the last realm, they would become the peak of whatever element they cultivated. There have yet to be a known God form cultivator on the planet except for Yin. The highest there has been since his disappearance were Divine realm cultivators. Each empire had a Divine realm ruling over the empire. There was 5 kingdoms, Yin being in the center; Wu to the south-west; Chu to the west; Wei to the north; and Tsu to the east. Yin was the most flourish kingdom as it was located in the center and the Yutzu sea ran through and bordered the kingdom. To the west was desert and mountains while to the east was plains, it was flourishing with life. To the north, it was cold during the winter while to the south it was blazing hot. The Yin kingdom was in the perfect location.
The Yin kingdom had been declining throughout the years. After Yin went into seclusion, the government over time started to corrode. The government officials were corrupt and they were putting all of the money into their own pockets. The people were starting to suffer, there was a increase of homeless. The year 1379 of the Yin empire, the people overthrew the empire. They established their own kingdoms, and the Yin empire was turned into a kingdom as they couldn't hold their ground against the rebellion.
In the government's greed, they were going to start a war with the Chu kingdom, since in the mountains there were endless gold within. They plan to enlist the poor into the Army to rid of all the poverty within the Kingdom by sending them to their deaths in the west. It slowly turned dark, Yan Shou had been sitting at the same table the entire day. He had already ordered over 50 bottles of Tiger wine. The waitresses were shocked at this man, who was rich enough to order a 10 gold bottle of wine at ease. Each waitress had tried to gain his favor, but all was for naught, as he would ignore them and continue to stare out the window towards the sky. The waitresses didn't know what Yan Shou was staring at, but he just kept staring at the sky as he sipped on his wine.
Yan Shou was thinking about his past and how he had gotten to his current level today. He was an orphan and was bullied by his foster brothers and the local children in the small village where he lived in. At the age of 10, Han Shou had decided to leave, it was better than being bullied his entire life. Yan Shou would then go through life challenging trials, where he was tricked and used by others and left for dead. He became detached to the world and the people around it. He cultivated in seclusion and gained insights to Lightning and at the Age of 379, he had reached the God realm.
Even though Yan Shou had became the pinnacle of existence there was something lacking in his life. A sense of emptiness inside of him that he could never figure out. He had traveled the World for countless years but have yet to figure out what it was. At first Yan Shou had tried to drink the feeling away, but found that it didn't work, later it had become a habit of his. This feeling was gnawing at him.
"Look! It's the kingdom's trash!" A hoarse voice sounded from downstairs of the tavern.
"What is a trash like you doing out here!?" Another voice questioned.
"Fuck off!" The kingdom trash said.
"Haha... I think the years of being bullied in the castle has finally made him retarded!"
"Let's do his brothers the honor of teaching him some manners."
Suddenly, Yan Shou felt a strange power gathering from downstairs. In a flash, Yan Shou appeared by the ledge staring at the show on the 1st floor of the tavern. There, a small boy who looked to be about 9 years old with ragged clothing, glaring at a group of teenagers with contempt. His eyes looked familiar to Han Shou, probably it was once how his own eyes looked from the betrayal. The strange sense of power was coming from the boy, it was a energy unknown to him, but it felt quite familiar.
The boy suddenly released a strange energy, it distorted the space around it. When the distorted space touched the group that were mocking the boy, they suddenly disintegrated. This scene had shocked everyone in the tavern, especially Yan Shou. Even though Yan Shou was at the God realm, even he couldn't identify what it was that the boy had done to the group of people. The power to disintegrate someone, this form of ability was higher than any he had seen before, it was close to the ones from the legends of Yin.
Such a mysterious ability, the only abilities known to the human kind was: earth, water, air and fire; these were the basics and most common. The higher abilities were: lightning, light, darkness, plants, gravity, fog, ice, sound, and space. Lightning, light and darkness derived from fire. Plants and gravity derived from Earth. Fog and ice derived from water. Sound and space derived from air.
Yan Shou had reached the said pinnacles of the world, but when he had reached it, he felt he had became a lot smaller. It was when he reached the God realm of Lightning, he found that Lightning was a form of fire, created from a high level of friction with a positive and negative charge. Light was birth from fire and when you took away light there was darkness. Yan Shou was able to control lightning, light, fire and darkness, but when it came to darkness, there was an unknown factor that he could never truly understand. While watching the boy, it gave Yan Shou a fragment of insight to the missing piece, but it wasn't enough.
Yan Shou had thought about announcing to the world, that the name God realm should be changed into Pinnacle realm instead. You didn't become a god when you reach that realm, you've just reached the pinnacle of the element you control. When Yan Shou figured that out, he had started down a path of comprehending the other elements, but he found that he had no talent in them at all. It was quite hard going down a road that he was born with no talent at all. It was as if, there was a invisible barrier preventing him from expanding his knowledge into the other elements.
Yan Shou had seen a Imperial realm space user. The ability the boy had used was nothing similar to the space user, unless the boy had reached the god realm of space. It was quite impossible though, the boy had the appearance of a 9 year old and everyone in the kingdom seemed to have known who this boy was. For a 9 year old boy to reach the god realm of space was inconceivable. The ability the boy had used should be a new found ability that no one has seen before, it might be on the level that Yin had displayed when he first ruled the planet.
"Who is that boy?" Yan Shou asked a random man sitting near by.
"..." the man stared dumbfound at Yan Shou for a second. "You don't know the kingdom's trash? He is the king's 13th son. At the age of 3 they had tested for his affiliation and found that he had none."
"A boy with no affiliation to any of the elements?" Yan Shou stared shocked at the boy's back as the boy turned to walk out of the tavern.

Hey all, so I forgot to tell you that the story 'Forgotten' and this one ties in together. They take in different times but later I plan to make them join together.
A lot of grammar errors, but too lazy to go through and fix them at the moment.
CHAPTER 2: ORIGINS
When the boy started to walk out of the tavern, Yan Shou quickly followed, in a flash he disappeared and reappeared in front of the boy outside of the tavern. It could be said that Yan Shou's actions had surprised the man who he was talking to previously. Most of the humans had only reached the Spirit form. Even the generals of the kingdoms were able to reach the Elemental form. Going beyond the Spirit form was quite challenging and only those who had talent for their element could ever gain a higher insight into the element which they control. The higher level of ability you controlled the higher your understanding was towards the element, if you ended up with the basic elements, your future achievements were slim most could only reach the Spirit form.
"Boy, what is your name?" Yan Shou asked.
The boy stared at Yan Shou briefly, trying to figure out who this man in front of him was. "Yang."
"Just Yang? I heard you were a prince of the Yin kingdom, how could your name be Yang, the enemy of the Yin kingdom?"
Yang frowned upon hearing Yan Shou's words. "Who is to say that who is good and who is evil? The the victor may be the ones that write history, but who is to say it is real or fake?."
These words shocked Yan Shou, for a 9 year old boy to be so knowledgeable. It was true though, those with power was victorious and were always to be said the virtuous ones in history while the losers turned into the ones in the wrong. Yan Shou had been alive for over three thousand years and seen it too many times.
"If you have no further business with me, I'll take my leave." Yang said.
"Wait! It as you said those with power are the virtuous ones. Currently, I believe you do not have the power to protect yourself. How about you become my disciple?"
"Ha... you be my master? What makes you qualify to say those words?" Yang sneered.
Yan Shou was shocked at the boy for his bravery. Although Yan Shou had given up on the mortal world long ago, for some reason when it came to this boy he couldn't resist the urge to pull him in. It was the first time in a long time that Yan Shou had really interacted with another person, he had never expected it would be this boy.
"I am at the God realm, does this qualify me?" With those words, Yan Shou release some pressure on to Yang. To Yan Shou's surprise, this had no effect on Yang at all.
"Is that all?" With a thought Yang had easily dispelled Yan Shou's pressure. "If you think you are at the god realm, you are truly mistaken. The lowly humans who called that realm the god realm were idiots who have never truly experienced the true god realm."
Yang release his energy towards Yan Shou. Although Yan Shou was at the so called 'God realm' the energy Yang had release frightened Yan Shou. Yan Shou quickly dodge the energy allowing it to hit the building behind Yan Shou. It quickly disintegrated like the group from earlier. Yan Shou's eyes flashed with electricity and in a flash his body turned into a bolt of lightning charging at Yang.
"Child's play!" Yang's eyes flashed with a grayish light.
"What did you do?" To Yan Shou's surprise, his body morphed from a bolt of lightning back into his original form.
"Like I said before this is only child's play." Yang replied.
"Although you have this ability, it seems that it takes a great toll on you. From how I see it, you can only last another two or three moves." Yan Shou grinned.
Yang frowned upon hearing those words. The words Yan Shou said was true, if they kept fighting Yang was destined to lose. Although, Yang's ability was above the god realm, for some reason it had a limited amount of usage. The toll it took Yang to use and each move was greater than the last and although, Yang didn't show it, it was taking a giant mental toll on him. It felt like Yang's mind was going to explode at any moment from the over usage of his ability.
"State what you want." Yang demanded. He didn't want to drag this out any longer.
"I want to know the source of your powers, in exchange, I'll gift you this life saving charm." Yan Shou replied.
"Ha... a lowly item like that?" Yang mocked.
"It may be lowly to you, but seeing as how you can use that ability only so much times before it drains you, this item will provide you with an escape route when fighting against more than one expert." Yan Shou told Yang.
"Escape route?" Yang asked.
"It'll shoot a lightning strike against your foe, anyone under the god realm will be instantly killed. At the same time, it'll turn your body into a ray of lightning sending you 20 km at your choosing."
Yang was shocked that a charm would have such abilities, but Yan Shou was at the God realm, a realm that haven't been reached by any human so far. Although Yang cultivated a strange power, the amount of time he could use it was too small. If, he encountered multiple experts he wouldn't be able to fight his way out of it and be overrun. "Okay, I'll accept your offer, but first you have to give me this charm." Yang demanded.
"No problem, if you lie, I can easily kill force it out of you." Yan Shou grinned.
Yang frowned upon hearing those words. "The energy I cultivate are the Origins, you will reached this level once you've reached the pinnacle of all elements."
Yan Shou was shocked! To reach the pinnacle of all elements? It wasn't a easy task, it had taken him 379 years to reach the god realm of Lightning. He had tried multiple times to cultivate the other elements, but there existed a mental barrier was too strong and he hadn't been able to gain any insights into the laws. Yang having been able to cultivate the origin energy was a huge accomplishment that even Yan Shou couldn't ever dream of.
"I have already tried to gain insights into the other elements, but there seems to be a mental barrier that is stopping me from doing so." Yang frowned while saying those words.
"You need to start all over. That is all I'll tell you." Yang immediately started walking towards the edge of town.
While watching Yang walk away Yan Shou was shocked. For him to be able to cultivate the powers of the origin, did he went through reincarnation? Was this what Yang had meant starting over? Reincarnation wasn't easy, Yan Shou had once pondered about the ability of reincarnation. The brain and heart operates on a electrical pulse, if it does he should be able to die and as long as there was a strong enough electrical pulse from Yan Shou's brain he could transmit it to an unoccupied body. Yan Shou had given up on this idea, as it was too hard to imagine it being possible. The concept of the soul was too hard to figure out. How he was going to guide the electrical pulse if he was dead. If, transmitting an electrical pulse of his memory to a dead body would actually revive it. There were too many factors that played into how to reincarnate that Yan Shou didn't want to risk it.
Yan Shou decided to give up on these thoughts for now. Turning around Yan Shou disappeared and reappeared in the tavern at his table. Picking up the cup of tiger wine and slowly sipping on the wine, he continued to start into the sky. There were too many things in this world he didn't know. He wanted answers to all of his questions, but when he reached the God realm, he found that there were more questions that had piled up. All of these questions had frustrated Yan Shou, but the most important one was the question of starting over.
After a whole night of drinking, Yan Shou decided to rent a room. He was going to do something that he hadn't done for thousands of years, sleep. Once he had reached the Spirit form, he found that he no longer required to sleep. He had forgotten the concept of sleep, but after tonight's encounter he felt for once that he needed sleep. It was actually hard for him to instant fall asleep since he had forgotten how to for a long time, but as time pass he slowly fell into darkness.
In Yan Shou's dream, he dreamt of his past. He was 7 years old in the small village called Meng. He was born before the rise of Yin and was abandoned by his parents at deserted house. His foster family had found him crying during a raining night and took him in. Although they had adopted him, they never treated him as their own, they had two sons and they would constantly bully Yan Shou.
At the age of 7, was when it all began, Yin came into rise and wiped half of the life of the continent in his fight with Yang, luckily Yan Shou's village resided in the Shu kingdom in the mountains. It was then, then that everyone started to feel a strange feeling inside of their bodies, it was energy coursing through their body. To Yan Shou's surprise after absorbing the energy, he was able to create small sparks, he had gained the abilities of lightning. He had thought this was a blessing, but soon found that others had gained abilities too and his bullying got worst. It wasn't until the age of 10 when his two foster brothers almost killed him that he decided to leave the village.
From there he had encountered many people and experienced many betrayals. The biggest betrayal he experienced was the woman he thought loved him had only been using him for years. Once she had achieved what she wanted she had left him for dead for another man. This shock was too great for Yan Shou, he thought that he was dead, but when he fell into the depth of the darkness, there he experienced something. When he had awoken, he had forgotten what it was that he had experienced, but it had left a deep mark on him. Miraculously he found that his body had recovered from being sliced into two.
The darkness, the emptiness, what was it? He was able to control darkness, but there was always that unknown factor that he could never understand. What was darkness? Where did darkness come from?
Yan Shou suddenly woke up, he found that his bed was soaked with sweat. To Yan Shou's surprise, it felt that he had understood a bit more of that fragment that he couldn't understand before. He somehow felt that he understood what Yang had meant when he said 'to start over'. Yan Shou decided to ponder on the abilities of the basic element water. Water was strong against fire, but weak against lightning, why was that?
Lightning was only a higher form of fire. Fire is created by heat, but when there is a high level of friction, it creates sparks. Sparks is electric, electric when combining a negative charge and positive charge, it would create lightning. Lightning was pretty much just a bigger spark. Why was water able to absorb lightning and disperse it?

More typos and what not, too lazy to go through at the moment to make fixes.
CHAPTER: ENROLLEMENT
After a whole day of pondering upon these questions Yan Shou vanished from the tavern and found himself a lake. Yan Shou emerged himself into the lake, floating on the surface staring at the night sky. There he decided to fade into the darkness again. He dreamt about a water user he had once fought in his spirit form. Even though his lightning was able to pass through the water, it was dispersed, leaving only a third of the original energy.
He also saw a scene where a fire user fought against a water user. When the two elements met, there was a implosion creating steam. The water was broken down to a mist and soon evaporated into the air. With that scene, Yan Shou woke up. It had finally made sense. Water was just a condense form of the particles in the air.
When manipulating electricity, Yan Shou could feel the particles in the air. To condense the particles in the air and create water... that was the challenge. The concept was easy, but to actually do, was hard. Yan Shou continued to float in the lake staring into the night sky. The cultivators out there were greedy and one had to gain insights by themselves into the elements of the world to move up. If the divine realms all decided to gave insights to the lower realms, there would be endless amounts of Imperial realms and their control over the world would be challenging cause everyone would fight to be the ruler of a kingdom or world.
Yan Shou didn't understand why his ability to manipulate electricity couldn't effect water. What was he missing? He discharged a large amount of lightning into the lake. Every fish within the lake was fried and floated onto the surface, while there was a constant electrical flashing on the surface of the lake. It didn't take long before his electrical discharge dispersed. Although, he killed all the fish within the lake, he didn't reach his intended end state. Was he going about this all wrong?
With a sigh Yan Shou's body flashed and disappeared from the lake. Yan Shou reappeared at the kingdom's largest Water users school, Leviathan academy. The academy was ran by a Divine realm principle. Under him was several Imperial form instructors. The academy taught their students up to the Spirit form. If the students wish to reach the Elemental form, they had to provide services or monetary for them to reach the Elemental form. Usually only the rich could every afford to pay up a large amount of gold to gain a small insight into the Elemental form.
Yan Shou looked like he was still in his 20's although this didn't qualify him to join the Academy, he was quite rich and could buy his way into the Academy. The current government was corrupt and as long as you had enough money, you could pretty much buy anything. Those at the Imperial form were quite corrupt and would have woman serve them for years as sex toys before they even give him a bit of insights towards the Elemental form. The system wasn't perfect, but it worked, plus power was everything in this world. The strong would dominate while the weak would follow and serve those that were strong.
"Student, where can I go to enroll into this Academy?" Yan Shou asked a random student walking towards the gate.
"The Academy only enroll students on the first fall of the leafs." The student replied.
Yan Shou had only observed the World, when he reached God realm and hadn't really interacted with others for over a thousand year so when it came to information, he didn't know too much except for what information he heard while drinking at a tavern.
"Thank you." Yan Shou started walking towards the school gate, where there seemed to be an instructor.
"Sir, where may I find the principle of this academy?" Yan Shou asked.
"Haha... you want to talk... haha... to the principle? He is someone at the Divine realm. Who are you to talk to the principle?" The Instructor kept laughing at Yan Shou.
Yan Shou sighed as he watched the Instructor. "Who can I talk to, to enroll into this academy?"
"Bwhahaha... you want to enroll? Enrollment was 2 months ago. You are also pass the age of 20. You probably don't even have any talent. Bwhaha..." The instructor continued to mock Yan Shou.
Yan Shou's patience was running out as he continued to be mocked by the instructor. Yan Shou decided to ignore this Instructor and find himself the administration office. Instantly Yan Shou vanished before the instructor. The scene had actually shaken the instructor awake. To be able to vanish in front of him, who was at the Imperial realm was too shocking. He sudden had a bad feeling as if he just offended someone he shouldn't have. If this man was able to disappear in front of him without him seeing, it meant Yan Shou had to be at a higher realm than the Imperial realm.
Yan Shou felt that there wasn't a need to hide his identity, otherwise he could've changed his appearance to someone who was younger by manipulating the molecules within his body. He was at the god realm, who could possibly harm him except for Yin and Yang. When Yan Shou reappeared he was in front of the administration office. All of the teachers inside of the room weren't able to notice his presence at all when he appeared outside of the door. When he opened the door to the administration office, he had surprised all of the instructors inside. They were able to feel the presence of all the people within the academy, the only people's presence they couldn't feel was the vice principle and the principle's presence.
"Who is the vice principle of this Academy?" Although Yan Shou had already pretty much figured it was the old man sitting to the right of the room, centered without any other desks by him, with the presence of a Saint realm, it was to be courteous.
"It would be me, what is it that esteem guest seeks?." The vice principle frowned, he couldn't feel this man's aura. It could only mean he was at the Divine realm or higher.
"I would like to enroll into your school." Yan Shou bluntly stated.
"Esteem guest, It seems that you are above the Saint form. What could this school offer someone like you?"
"As for that you don't need to know. My conditions are to be enrolled in the Spirit realm class level and for no one to know my identity. If you can do those two, I'll provide you with 20 earth essence stones." Yan Shou stated.
"WHAT!? 20 EARTH ESSENCE STONES!?" The vice principle cried in shock.
Essence stones was rare to humans, they were produced in the dragon's continent. No one dared to approach the dragon's continent as all dragons were born at the Elemental realm. Almost all humans that had set foot upon the Dragon's continent had all ended dead except for the Divine realm kings. An average adult dragon was at the Divine realm and their strongest dragon was at the God realm. The human race hadn't produced an expert at the God realm that they know of, even though Yan Shou was at the God realm, he had kept this a secret from the world. A essence stone was beneficial to anyone who hadn't reached the Divine realm. Essence stones contained energies of a certain element and a strand of fragment of insights into the elements. If, you were lucky, essence stones could provide you with the missing insight you needed to move onto the next realm. This is why the dragon's had so many divine realms experts. The journey that the kings made, they had only been able to obtain about 5 essence stone each, but some of them weren't too lucky, as the essence stones didn't match their element. To be able to dish out 20 essence stones, it meant that this man in front of the vice principle had to have fought his way into the dragon's territory and made it back alive.
"Esteem guest, if you would allow me see those 20 essence stones before I consider your admission." The vice principle had calmed himself down. It was unbecoming of him to act in such a manner.
With a wave of his hand, Yan Shou produced 20 earth essence stones floating in front of him. Yan Shou was wearing a high grade spatial ring. It required a Space user at the Saint form to produce spatial ring. These items don't just disappear into no where. They tear a space that connects to the World Bank of Space. This bank has rooms created by Saint realm earth users and are guarded by multiple Imperial realms experts. A wall for a room was made of titanium, one of the hardest metals on earth. Depending on the size of the storage room, you had to pay a certain price every month. If you didn't pay your rent for 1 month they would destroy the link from the room to the ring, after 3 months, the bank will claim all of your assets within the bank. Each ring was bind to the person at the bank, so if someone was to kill and steal their ring, there would be no way for them to steal any of their items. This was how the bank became such a large business. The bank had multiple locations throughout the continent that the a person could go to, to pay their rent.
Yan Shou didn't have to worry about anything like rent as he had paid for 100 years worth of rent. To have a spatial ring, you had to be rich, and with the essence stones in front of the vice principle, he no longer doubted Yan Shou.
"Esteem Guest, Leviathan Academy welcomes you!" The vice principle put on a giant grin, as he reached for the 20 earth essence stones.
"Then I'll have to trouble you, I plan to start classes immediately!"
"No problem! No problem at all!" The vice principle laughed cheerfully. "Instructor Song, you will be in charge of this man. If you need anything any the future, don't bother to ask me, I am Vice Principle Yu."
Instructor Song recovered from his shock and planned to get on this man's good side, if he could please Yan Shou, the benefits he could receive was unlimited. "Esteem guest, I will be your instructor, please follow me." Instructor Song suddenly stopped, "by the way what is esteem guest's name?"
"Yan Shou" "Senior Yan Shou, it is my honor to be your instructor." Instructor Song smiled.
"You don't need to be formal, just call me Yan Shou." Yan Shou said with a grim expression. He didn't buy into the ass kissing, he had been betrayed too many times and didn't trust anyone or care for anyone but himself.
Instructor Song nodded his head lightly and sigh on the inside, he was hoping to get on Yan Shou's grace and hopefully gain some essence stone, but it seemed that it was quite impossible. Instructor Song led Yan Shou quite a distance, going into another building to the second floor before stopping at a door. It had a sign '2-5' above.
"This will be your classroom for the rest of this year, class 2-5. If, you'll follow me." Instructor Song slid the door open and walked inside.
"Okay class, today we have a new student. If you will introduce yourself." Instructor Song looked at the class and then looked at Yan Shou.
Yan Shou swiftly step into the room and stared at the class, there was no more than 30 students. "My name is Yan Shou."
Instructor Song stared at Yan Shou for a second waiting for an add on to his introduction, but when he saw nothing was going to follow he turned his attention back to the class. "You're seat will be next to Li Mei." Instructor Song pointed towards the empty seat towards the back roll.
Yan Shou didn't bother glancing at the rest of the class as he walked pass them towards the back roll of the class. Taking at the seat next to Li Mei, he didn't even bother glancing at Li Mei. All of the students in the class was about 12 to 14 years of age. The body realm stage was from the ages of 5 till 12, if you couldn't reach the final stages of the body form at the age of 14, they automatically enroll you into the Energy realm class. The only problem with going to the Energy realm stage before reaching the peak of the body realm was that your future would be limited.
"Okay class, last week we talked about forming your dantian, gathering the water energy towards your dantian and solidifying it. Once you've solidified your dantian, you could start gathering the water element at your will, although it shouldn't be much it should be a small amount of liquid, so if the class will, form a ball of water in your palms." Instructor Song instructed the class.
All of the students started to attempt to form a ball of water above their palms. Their facial expressions was quite funny as it was distorted from the frowning as they concentrated, while trying to form their ball of water. After a few breaths, droplets of water started to form above some of the student's hands. Only about half of the students were successful in their tries. The largest droplet was about three drops of water.
Li Mei stared at Yan Shou next to her, she was surprised that he hadn't even attempt to form a drop of water on his palm. He was in his 20's compared to everyone else, she just figured he was a late bloomer.
"Hi, I'm Li Mei." Li Mei smiled sweetly at Yan Shou.
"I'm Yan Shou." Yan Shou said indifferent and continued to stare at the front of the class.
"Haven't formed your dantian?" Li Mei tried to start a conversation.
"..." Yan Shou ignored her.
Li Mei frowned, she was trying to be polite, but it seemed that Yan Shou was a stuck up person.

So one thing I've always hated about reading other people's work is that they are too repetitive. They tend to repeat the same information and paraphrase paragraphs from previous chapters a lot. This makes me skip a lot of what is being said in the chapters, so I don't really want to do the same for my readers. If, I repeat something, it really to remind people and what not. Plus, I don't like spending one whole chapter describing one little event. I think that it is stupid to waste one whole chapter just to describe an event. I'm sure the readers have their own imaginations and what not.
CHAPTER 4: DENIED
After observing the students for a whole day and listening on Instructor Song's instructions, the class was dismissed to go cultivate some more. Even though it was quite boring, Yan Shou didn't mind, he was thousands of years old. If he could gain even a tiny bit of insight into the laws of water, it would be worth it. Yan Shou had once attempted to absorb a earth essence stone, but it back fired on him causing him to become extremely weak and spitting out fresh blood. Yan Shou had thought about trying to absorb a water essence stone to gain some sort of insight, but he didn't want to receive a backlash again.
Yan Shou didn't want to rely on a essence stone until he had reached the Elemental form for water element. It was when cultivators needed to gain insights about the element they control in order to advance through the levels. Insights had to be gain through one's own efforts or they could have someone else at a higher realm give them insights and there was also the essence stones. By relying on too much essence stones and not relying on your own insights could also reduce your future prospects, so it wasn't too favorable, unless you have reached a bottom neck. Since Yan Shou had already reach the pinnacle of the Lighting element, he didn't need to start over, but he couldn't just skip towards gaining insights about the water element. He needed to form a water dantian first, or somehow be able to manipulate the water element, before he can skip the spirit form and head towards the Elemental form for water element. The benefit of already being at the pinnacle of one element allowed him to skip some forms, which was awesome as the progress would be a lot quicker to get to the God realm of that element. The down side was that, he had no talent for the element so it would be a lot harder for him to gain any insights towards the element. His future was looking bleak, but if he needed to, he would rely on essence stones. Essence stones would only bring him up to the Divine form, once he reached that form relying on essence stones his future prospect would come to a stop and he would no longer be able to go beyond the Divine form in that element.
Yan Shou was the last student to leave the Academy, he was roaming around after class was over and was observing the other classes. The Spirit form class field, students were forming their spirit also some students were having battles. Yan Shou paid attention to the water battles, their fights weren't all that, it was low grade attack moves. Although it was a low grade battle, it was enough for Yan Shou since he needed to gain initial insights into the water element. The biggest thing he concentrated on was, how the students formed the water.
After sighing from exhaustion, Yan Shou vanished from his location and reappeared by a lake about 6 km away from the Academy. There Yan Shou floated above the water as before. His eyes closed and pondering on how water was formed. If only he was born with the natural talent for water, he would be able to condense water easily, but it was alright, he had reached the pinnacle of Lightning which enable him to control fire, light and darkness. What Yan Shou wasn't sure was if he needed to absorb the water energy in the surrounding and form a water dantian to control water or if he was supposed to gain insight into the laws to cultivate water.
Inside the lake, a hidden figure was shocked when Yan Shou had suddenly appeared above his lake. He had reached to Divine realm and there wasn't anyone he couldn't track. This was a first as he couldn't feel Yan Shou's presence until he was above his lake. Yan Shou couldn't care about anyone else's presence as he was at the God realm and floated on the surface of the lake with his eyes closed. The figure continued to observe Yan Shou, but couldn't tell what realm Yan Shou was at, this had shocked the figure. It didn't know whether it should approach Yan Shou or continue to allow him to float on the surface in peace.
There was only one class per week, the Instructor would give the students guidance then allow them to cultivate for a week before providing them with more guidance. During this time, Yan Shou didn't have anything else to do, so he would just float on the lake while pondering on all of the things he had seen. Yan Shou wasn't in a rush, he had a natural talent for the lightning element, but it still had taken him 379 years to reach the God realm, he figured it would take him twice or thrice as long to reach the God realm for the water element. Reaching the God realm for water would mean he would have to gain insights into fog and ice. It would be a slow process, but one day he would catch up to Yang and obtain the Origin energy.
Yan Shou had lied on the bed of water for a week straight without moving once. He wasn't expecting to gain much, but it wasn't a waste of time. Like before, Yan Shou shot a large voltage of electricity into this lake. The scene had scared the figure hiding inside of the lake, when he saw lightning shooting out of Yan Shou's pores. With all of his power he swam towards the edge of the lake, hoping to escape of electrical jolt. As he saw the electrical snakes start to make their way towards him, he became more worried as he watch the fishes in the lake die.
"Senior, PLEASE SPARE ME!" The figure suddenly shouted in fright of his life.
Hearing these words, Yan Shou withdrew his electrical jolt, reabsorbing it back into his body. He hadn't been paying attention to his surrounding, so when the figured shouted it had surprised Yan Shou.
"I thank Senior for sparing my life." The figure appeared in front of Yan Shou, bowing.
Yan Shou just stared at the figure, with a thought he vanished from the figure and reappeared in front of Leviathan Academy. It was currently dawn and students were en route towards the Academy. Even though Yan Shou suddenly appeared in front of the school, none of the students seem to have noticed him at all. The students continued to walk towards there class, as if Yan Shou didn't even existed, Yan Shou himself also made his way towards class. It wasn't until Yan Shou class had started that everyone noticed Yan Shou's presence. The entire class was shocked that Yan Shou could go unnoticed for so long.
"When did you get here?" Li Mei asked in shock.
Yan Shou continued to ignore her as usual. Li Mei frowned as Yan Shou didn't bother talking to her at all. She was quite popular with the males, but this person didn't give a damn about her at all, this infuriated her. Yan Shou did look like he was in his 20's so this was normal actually, she was just a child while Yan Shou would have experienced the pleasure of women. For a little girl, it was normal that he couldn't give a damn about her. This had actually made Li Mei somewhat insecure, that Yan Shou could ignore her.
About half way through the class, the class was interrupted. The person who had interrupted the class was the person Yan Shou had met at the lake.
"Everyone, this is the Principle of the Academy, Principle Leviathan, everyone give him a proper greeting." Instructor Song said.
"Greetings Principle Leviathan!" The entire class stood up and bowed except for Yan Shou.
Normally students would never have the honor of meeting the Principle, but because of what had happened at the lake, he had went back to the Academy. Upon returning to the Academy, the vice principle had informed him that there was an expert that was attending the Academy. He was also told that Yan Shou had paid 20 Earth essence stone. This had surprised Leviathan, he had only heard stories of essence stones and had never really seen one for himself. The reason the principle had shown himself to the class was, because he wanted to know who this figure was to be able to easily dish out 20 earth essence stones. He would have never expected in his wildest dream that the expert was the one who had nearly killed him at his own lake, Leviathan's Lake.
"Ahm... I just wanted to greet the students of my Academy, as no one has seen me for over 20 years. Get on with your class" Principle Leviathan announced with a smile, then turning around and leaving the class.
This action had shocked the Instructors themselves, some had never had the honor of meeting the Principle in their lives, it was only the original 4 Instructors and vice principle that had met the Principle. 10 years after establishing the Academy, the principle had turned all power over to the vice principle and had went into seclusion in Leviathan's lake. The vice principle had a sound transition talisman in case something ever happened and the Academy was in need of the Principle's return. Since there was never anything that the vice principle couldn't handle at the Saint realm, he never bothered to inform the principle. Having an expert attend their school was quite a big deal though and he had wished he was informed of this. There wasn't a human beyond the Divine realm, until he had met Yan Shou.
"Wei Yu, when did this senior enroll into our Academy and what is his background?" Leviathan asked vice principle Yu, back in the administration office.
"Senior Leviathan, this man enrolled in our school last week. His background in unknown, all I know is that his name is Yan Shou and he is above the Saint realm that is able to produce 20 Earth essence stones at ease."
"Yan Shou..." Leviathan was lost in thoughts, he tried to remember if he ever heard of a man named Yan Shou or anything related to him.
Wei Yu stared at Leviathan for a minute, "Do you know him?"
"No..." Leviathan slowly shook his head. "After class, let us invite him over and talk in my room."
"I'll make the arrangements."
Throughout the class, Instructor Song went through the same thing he did last week. It was mainly giving pointers to the students, nothing more. It was quite pointless in Instructor Song's point of view, for someone of Yan Shou's level to just sit in his class and observe. Was he so bored, that he could afford to waste time and resources like this?
"Senior Yan Shou, if you may, myself and Principle Leviathan wants to invite you to his room for a little chat." vice principle Yu approached Yan Shou after class.
The students stared shocked at what they had just heard. Who was this man that the Principle had personally come to see at noon and personally send the vice principle to invite for a chat. It wasn't long until the rumor was spread throughout the Academy.
"Hmm..." Yan Shou frowned at the vice principle, this wasn't part of the deal at all. By approaching him directly after class in front of all the students and inviting him was giving the attention that he didn't want.
"If senior doesn't want to,.." Wei Yu noticed Yan Shou's expression, he felt regret for what he had just done. He should've waited a few more minutes when the students had left the room before approaching him. Wei Yu was worried that, if he waited too long, Yan Shou would disappear before he had the chance to invite him, since he wasn't able to feel Yan Shou's presence at all.
"I'll find my own way there." Yan Shou glared at Wei Yu. This glare had almost stopped Wei Yu's heart from fright. With but a thought, Yan Shou found Leviathan's location and instantly vanished from his location. His appearance into Leviathan's office had scared him, as he couldn't feel Yan Shou's presence.
"Senior, please sit down." Leviathan stood up and offered Yan Shou a chair.
"Is there anything senior wants? A drink?" Leviathan asked politely.
"No, what business do you have with me?" Yan Shou's expression turned dark.
"Senior, I don't mean to offend you. If, I have offended you in any way please let me know."
"State your business."
"... I was hoping to chat with you a little, if that is fine." Leviathan said weakly.
Yan Shou frowned to his reply, showing his contempt.
"Senior, if you may I just wanted to know what realm you are at and why you would be interested enough to attend my Academy by giving out 20 Earth essence stones." Leviathan tried probing.
"I believe I told your vice principle already, if you have any other useless questions don't bother me in the future." With those words, Yan Shou vanished from the seat.
"I apologize Senior Leviathan, this man is quite secretive and doesn't allow anyone to get close to him. I saw him last week after class observing the water users, for what reason, that I do not understand." Wei Yu appeared out of the corner and bowed to Leviathan.
"It's alright, since he has a space ring, have someone go ask the World bank of space if they have any information related to him."
"I'll personally handle this myself."
"En." Leviathan nodded his head at Wei Yu.
Wei Yu's body evaporated and reformed at the nearest city, Posiden, it was about 2 km from Leviathan Academy between the the Academy and Leviathan Lake. Although he was a Saint realm, he still had to abide by the rules of the bank, he had to walk in there. Walking towards the counter, there were a few people in line, since he was the vice principle of Leviathan Academy, this gave him some prestige allowing him to directly talk to a manager.
"Can I talk to manager Xiong, please?" Wei Yu asked politely to a guard by the entrance.
"Whom are you may I ask?" The guard knew that this Wei Yu was at the Saint realm, while he was only at the Imperial, so he couldn't be discourteous.
"Tell him, Wei Yu of Leviathan Academy is here."
"I'll notify him immediately." Once the guard heard Leviathan Academy, it was known that it was the strongest water user school within the kingdom, and he couldn't afford to offend this person.
It hadn;t been 3 minutes before the guard came rushing back.
"Sir, if you will follow me." The guard gestured.
Wei Yu gave a light smile and follow behind the guard. The guard took Wei Yu to the top floor, the 7th floor. There was only one door at the top of the stairs, it was the manager's office.
Knock, Knock, Knock.
"Manager Xiong, Wei Yu of Leviathan Academy is here."
"Send him in, you can return to your duties."
"Yes, Manager." The guard opened the door for Wei Yu, saluted and took off afterwards.
"Come sit!" Manager Xiong stood up gesturing for Wei Yu to sit down.
"To what pleasure do I have for the vice principle of Leviathan Academy to be visiting me today?" Manager Xiong inquired.
"It has been a while hasn't it Manager Xiong, how is your familty doing?" Wei Yu redirected the topic.
"Fine, fine. My wife just gave birth to our fourth son!" Manager Xiong said merrily.
"Congratulations!" "Thank you, thank you."
"Have you made any break through in your cultivation in the past 10 years? If I remember correctly you were at the Saint realm as a Earth user correct?"
"Yes, I'll have you know, that bottom neck is too hard. I have a feeling I won't be able to reach the Divine realm before my death." Manager Xiong said dejectedly.
"What if I was to tell you that I could provide you with 5 Earth essence stones towards your bottom neck?"
"5 Earth essence stones!?" Manager Xiong's eyes shined.
"I just need a little information and these 5 Earth essence stones will be yours." Wei Yu waved his hand and 5 earth essence stones appeared above his palm.
Manager Xiong stared shocked, he had seen a Earth essence stone before at the Yin auction house at Yin kingdom, but he was too poor to afford it. He could only look at the Earth essence stone in admiration. It was quite sad as he truly wanted it, but was out of his price range.
"What information?" Manager Xiong quickly inquired.
"I just want to know all of your information on a person name Yan Shou." Wei Yu smiled coyly. "Assistant Bao!" Manger Xiong commanded.
"Yes, Manager Xiong?" Assistant Bao quickly replied.
"Quickly! Find all information regarding a person named Yan Shou in our systems."
"I'll send a sound transmition to Headquarters."
"Vice principle Yu, till take a while, can I offer you tea?"
"Yes please."
"Assistant Bao, Sun tea for Vice principle Yu."
"Vice principle Yu, since it will take awhile, I want to know where exactly you obtained these 5 Earth essence stones." Manager Xiong smiled at Wei Yu.
"My luck just so happen to be good and these stones fell upon my belongings." Wei Yu replied.
"Haha... you are quite funny Vice principle Yu, everyone knows the only place you can obtain essence stones is at Dragon continent. The only people who had ever survive that place was the 5 kings. They themselves only obtain 5 essence stone themselves. So, who can it be that obtained these 5 essence stones for you."
"This information I can't disclose it to you as I am afraid the person will shut our mouths after finding out what I have said to you. Just know that this man is above the Divine realm." Wei Yu smiled.
"Manager Xiong, I have received a sound transmition back from headquarters, but... you won't like the answer." Assistant Bao said as he opened the door.
"Please tell." Manager frowned upon hearing her words.
"Headquarters has said that you are not allowed to ever mention that name again and that all information related to him is classified." Assistant Bao replied weakly, afraid that Manager Xiong would vent his anger on her.
"You may go!" Manager Xiong said displeased.
"Yes." Assistant Bao bowed and left the room.
"Huh... I am sorry, but it seems I can't obtain any information on this Yan Shou. Sorry to have disappoint you."
"It is fine, I have learned something today, that this person is someone who is higher than I had initially thought. For that, I thank you Manager Xiong, here is 3 Earth essence stones. Even though, I couldn't get the information I wanted, you provided me your assistance."
"Thank you!" Manager Xiong eyes flashed as he stood up and receive the two earth essence stones and bowed deeply to Wei Yu.
"It is I who should thank you." Wei Yu smiled as he walked out of the room.

So, I apologize, if I keep changing my measurement system. I know that I used meters in one story and I used ft in this one. Like I posted in Forgotten, I have a third story, Nameless. forum.wuxiaworld.com/discussion/3265/nameless#latest There is about 5 stories total that combine later on, I'm only writing three stories at the same time right now. The character Yang, in the first chapter is actually a book too. That story was my original story written on paper and have not been put onto digits yet. 5. TO START ANEWSeeing Wei Yu walk out of the door, Manager Xiong couldn't hold in his excitement any longer and started to examine the Earth essence stones. With these two Earth essence stones, it could shorten his cultivation speed by at least 30 years. The excitement was swelling up so crazily inside of him, he decided to go into seclusion for awhile to see if, he can break into the Divine realm within the next 20 years. Due to two stones, he had instantly retired as the Manager of the Posiden branch bank. This news had come as a shock to the staff and headquarters. Wei Yu wasn't surprised at all at the retirement of Manager Xiong. He sighed dejectedly, as he couldn't find any sort of information on Yan Shou. The fact that Headquarters had made the information classified, he probably had to go there himself and bribe the staff. Wei Yu looked towards the sky, thinking of the height that one can reach... he dreamed of one day reaching the God realm, before his death. Yan Shou was at the Demi-god or God realm, but he needed to confirm who this mysterious man was, so that he can better his relationship. After sighing, Wei Yu turned into a mist and vanished. Yan Shou was observing the students as they practice their water attack spells. Before the elemental realm, since the students hadn't reached the level of insights yet, they required chants to active water spells. Once you've reached the Elemental realm, you had start gaining insights towards the laws, so it didn't require chanting if, you had gained insight into a certain portion of that law. Watching these students chant low level spells was quite boring, but Yan Shou decided to memorize the chants. Yan Shou needed to memorize these spells for when he had finally formed his water dantian. Off to the distance, Leviathan had been observing Yan Shou the entire time. He was trying to figure out why an Lightning demi-god or God realm, had joined his Water Academy. If, he was at the Demi-god realm, was it a requirement to stepping into the god realm? Did you have the study the element that yours was strongest against? Did you need to gain insight into other elements, in order to cross over the threshold? Since Leviathan hadn't gone beyond the Divine realm, he couldn't understand Yan Shou's train of thought. Leviathan could only sigh and watch Yan Shou quietly from the shadows, the fact that Yan Shou had been courteous enough to enroll into his Academy was already a lot. Yan Shou could've just hid his presence and moved as he wished and observe from the shadows and no one would have ever known. Since Yan Shou had shown him some respect, he had to do the same and not try and pry too deeply into his affairs. He still couldn't resist the urge to gain his favor though, the favor of the only person so far known to man that have stepped into the realm above the Divine realm. If Leviathan was lucky, maybe he might be able to gain some insights and reached the next realm. Yan Shou was watching two teenagers battle, they were both at the Spirit realm. Although, they were equally matched, one had better gear than the other. Wearing enchanted equipment affiliated with your element actually helps you active spells a lot faster. Depending on the grade of the equipment, it allowed you to absorb the elements at a faster rate. One pretty much had to be at the Saint realm in order to create equipment with elemental affiliation. At the body realm, a child had to strengthen his body through exercise and become attuned to his body. Once they become attuned to their bodies, they can finally start the Energy realm, absorbing the elemental energy of their affiliation into their bodies and forming their dantian. Once they have reached the final stages of forming their dantian, they can start strengthening their spirit, this helps with mental strains of usage of their elements. In order to step into the elemental realm, they had to gain 1% insight into their elements. Imperial realm, they had gained 50% of insight into their element, it didn't matter the order of insights that they gained as long as it was 50%. Saint form, you start to incorporate the elements into close quarter combat and develop your own abilities through your understanding of the law. Divine realm was once you gained over 90% of insights into the laws. Demi-god realm was once you had understood 100%of the law you use and have started to understand the higher elements or if you cultivate a higher element, you need to break it down and understand the basic element. God realm was once you've understood the basic element and it's higher elements. All children upon birth have an affiliation to an element, but all of their talents vary. If you tried to cultivate a element that you weren't affiliated to at the lower level, you will start to receive massive headaches as if there is a mental barrier blocking you. If one was able to break through the mental barrier they would be able to cultivate another element, but with each breakthrough the mental barrier became tougher. The path Yan Shou was taking was a different route, it was trying to understand the initial profound laws of water. At Yan Shou's level, since he wasn't affiliated with water or born with the talent for it, it was extremely difficult for him to gain any sort of insight or be able to feel and form water. Life wasn't a easy path, it was one that you had to struggle against the heavens. What Yan Shou didn't know was that he had already understood the initial profound law of water, what he needed to do now was to cultivate a water dantian. Due to his past experience he was too afraid of the mental pain that he didn't bother going down that route again. Yan Shou could try for countless eons to comprehend the laws of water, but without breaking through the mental barrier and cultivating a water dantian he future achievements would come to a stop. There was a reason the mental barrier was emplaced on everyone, it was to see if they could push themselves beyond their limits. Who ever it was that gave them their abilities didn't want to give it to them for free, they would have to struggle and only when they have pushed themselves to the very end will they gain something. After class ended Yan Shou once again went to Leviathan lake. It was his favorite spot and hobby currently, to lay on the water surface and stare at the sky. Although Yan Shou was at the God realm there was things he could never achieve, one was to leave the planet. He had tried once, but the further he went, due to the lack of oxygen, he nearly died. In order for him to survive in space he needed to cultivate air as it will allow him to create his own oxygen in outside of the atmosphere. Even at the higher realms, there was things that become possible, but the body was still human and it had to follow the laws of the human. Yan Shou wanted to know what was beyond those blue skies. At night there were stars, but what were the stars. He wanted to travel into the outer reaches and explore the unknown. Yan Shou had been everywhere he could think of on Earth, what was left was space. Yan Shou could only wait for the day he has cultivated the Origins before he head out, by then he should have the ability to survive. Yan Shou slowly faded into the darkness as he stared at the sky. In the darkness, there was a sense of warmth that he felt. Yan Shou wasn't sure what this feeling was, it was as if he was in the brace of a mother's love. His mother, he had never known his parents. When he reached the realm to be able to find his parents they were already dead and he could no longer find any trace of them. The feeling the darkness gave him though was weird, it was as if he was being embraced by a mother's love, even though he never knew what it felt like. The thought and feeling was instantly transmitted into his brain. In the endless darkness, he kept hearing Yang's voice and what he had said. 'Start over? What did Yang exactly mean by that? Did Yan Shou have to start at the body realm again?' He has already reached the peak of the body realm when cultivating Lightning so it was a waste of time to start from the Body realm. Did he have to start at the Energy realm then? Yan Shou awoke in the middle of the night, the first thing to greet his eyes was the full moon hanging over him. Reaching out his hands towards the moon, it almost feels like he could touch it. It felt so close, yet so far. The stars shinning brightly in the sky as if looking down upon him. Yan Shou felt so little, although he had reached the God realm, he had never felt smaller. "When will I be able to truly reach the God realm?" Yan Shou asked himself. "Aren't you already at the God realm?" A voice sounded underneath him. "If you think that I am at the God realm, you are truly mistaken." "Why do you say that?" "The God realm we all believe is false, it should really be called the False-God or Pinnacle realm." "Then what would the Demi-god realm be called?" "..." Yan Shou had already known it was Leviathan, who he was talking to. Although, Yan Shou didn't feel him entering the lake while he was asleep or scanned the lake when he had awoke, he knew. Yan Shou had cut himself from the world for so long, he hadn't really conversed with someone for over a thousand years. Going to a tavern and ordering wine wasn't exactly interacting. It might be because of the dream that Yan Shou had finally disarmed himself and said so much to Leviathan. "Once you've reached the False-God realm or I should really call it the Pinnacle realm, you will finally understand how small you really are." With those word Yan Shou vanished from the Lake. "False-God realm..." Leviathan appeared out of the lake staring at the spot Yan Shou was at. After the dream, Yan Shou had decided to start all over, maybe there was something that he had missed. He was going to go back to his home town, Xiao to train. The people he had once detest no longer exist, it was a new start for him. He would rebuild his life, although he couldn't go back to his childhood times, he could at least try and start over. The best place to rebuild himself was the place he hated the most, his childhood home village. The village, Meng once knew no longer existed. After the rise of the the 5 kingdoms, it was under the rule of the Chu kingdom. The village had became a massive city with a castle with the mountain to its back, it was now called Clayton. There were streets filled with carts and business was booming. Traders were eagerly coming and going, the major item of Clayton was its Earth elemental enchanted weapons, golems and wyvern pelts. The western part of the continent was a mountainous region filled with wyverns. Many hunters gathered in Clayton to hunt wyverns, it was one of the checkpoint to going into the mountains. Wyvern hunters mainly head to Clayton, once they were filled up with pelts or were short on supplies. Most Wyvern hunters were at the late stages of the Spirit realm, while some were at the Divine realm. Wyverns were at elemental realms, it would take about a group of 10 spirit realm Wyvern hunters to successfully kill one. Most Wyverns traveled in a group of three, so the groups of Wyvern hunters had to be about 30 or more hunters, or if they had a Elemental realm with them it was a lot easier. Yan Shou need to first purchase himself a house. There were some unoccupied houses in the trade district for rent at a price of 20 gold each. Yan Shou planned to purchase a house though, he didn't want it in a location that was too crowded, he thought about building it towards the the outer reaches of the city. The only problem was that the outer area of the city was the slums, his only option was to build his own house and stay at a tavern until his new home was finished. He quickly found himself an architecture, a earth user. The city was filled with Earth users, as it was in the mountains, here it was there home territory. Although it was filled with earth users, not all had become elemental users, some went into the occupation of architecture. It hadn't taken long for the city to rise with so many Earth users, as they all used their earth abilities to build mainly of the buildings currently standing today. Yan Shou wanted a house build from wood though, much like the houses back in his past. He asked for the architecture to build a mansion much like the one, he had seen in his childhood, when he went out adventuring. The mansion had costed him about 10,000 gold, but it was finished with a week. The price was 5x higher than building a regular stone house, but it was worth it, as it was made of wood and only took one week to finish. The mansion was centered on a 10 acre land and had a wall around it with a gate leading to the entrance with a stone road. It was five story tall, and was 210 ft wide and 345 ft deep. It could be said that it was probably the most decorative and largest mansion within the city. Satisfied with his new home, Yan Shou decided to hire some servants from the slums, giving them a job and a monthly payment of 10 gold each. This was considered to be graceful as most servants only made 2 gold a month and the only people who made made beyond 10 gold a month was Wyvern hunters. This price blown most of the poor out of the slums, many of them had ran over to Yan Shou's mansion pledging their loyalty to him to gain a job. To gain 10 gold a month without having to risk you life out in the wilderness was more than enough to win anyone weak and poor over. AUTHORS NOTES: So, unlike most stories, where once you've hit a high realm, you become an immortal, I decided to make it so that the life span only stays at 100 years. This throws you all off, since Yan Shou is over three thousand years old. You'll find out the reason later.

CHAPTER 6 - NEW STARTIt didn't take long before news of Yan Shou's 1,000 gold mansion had reached the ears of the city lord, Clayton Reid, shocking him. 1,000 gold was considered a lot, it was enough to buy 10, 2nd grade Earth weapons. Although this was a prosperous city, most of the gold went to the city lord from taxes. 1,000 gold wasn't considered a lot to him, but for a normal citizen of Clayton it was. Half of Clayton's income went to the Chu royal family. For someone rich to appear in his city had excited him, the amount the money that he could extract out of this person, was all he could think about. Once Clayton Reid heard of the completion of the mansion and the price Yan Shou was offering to hire servants, he immediately rushed over to meet Yan Shou. Clayton Reid rode in a purple carriage decorated with gold on the edges. The carriage horses had gold plated armor all to symbolize his wealth. Clayton Reid was at the Imperial realm and he loved money the most. He had robbed people of their wealth using his power, those that he couldn't, he would sucked up to them. When Yan Shou had built the mansion, he was already expecting trouble to come with it, so while hiring servants, he also put out a notice to hire guards. His requirement was that they had to be at the Spirit realm or above. Spirit realm would receive 15 gold a month, Elemental realm would receive 20 gold a month. It was hard to find any Imperial realm in Clayton except for the city lord so he didn't bother putting out a notice for hiring Imperial realms. Elemental realm was strong enough to handle the small matters, as long as he wasn't constantly bothered by pest was all he cared about. Yan Shou had hired over 100 servants to handle the cleaning, cooking and purchase of ingredients and furniture. He had hired 200 Spirit realm guards to patrol his walls daily and 40 Elemental realm to be in charge of 5 Spirit realm each. He didn't really manage the guards too much, as long as they guard the perimeters of his estate was all he cared for, so he put the Elemental realms in charge of managing his security. He had took in one personal butler to handle most of his personal affairs. When Clayton Reid's carriage had arrived at Yan Shou's mansion gate, everything was already pretty much put into order. Clayton Reid was shocked at the scene in front of him, one week ago, this location was a run down slum, now there stood a extravagant mansion. The guards noticing the City lord's carriage and hurriedly opened the gate for him not daring to offend him. Just as the two guards had cracked the gate open, they suddenly froze. There appeared Yan Shou, he had sent a jolt of electricity through their body immobilizing them. "Who told you to open the gate!?" Yan Shou stared at the two guard from 10 ft away. "I am the City lord of Clayton, Clayton Reid, if you know what is good for you, open the gates." Clayton Reid announced through the carriage with a snobbish voice. "The City lord? If you know what is good for you, turn around and never approach more than 30 meters of my estate." Yan Shou rebuked. "Haha... it seems that you don't know your place." As soon as those words left Clayton Reid's mouth a earth spike shot towards Yan Shou. Without even blinking, Yan Shou canceled the earth spike with his electricity. He accelerated the molecules and broke them down. "I have the Chu royal family backing me. If you know what is good for you, you won't touch a strand of hair on my body." Clayton Reid said worried, as his Earth spike wasn't able to do anything to Yan Shou. Clayton Reid had been too much in a rush and didn't try and probe what realm Yan Shou was at. His greed for gold had blinded him and now he felt bitter regret for not taking a more appropriate approach. "Chu royal family? Call your Chu royal family and see what happens!" These word had shocked Clayton Reid, everyone knew that the king of the Chu was at the Divine realm. If this man in front of him wasn't afraid of the Chu king, it could only mean that he himself was at the Divine realm. Clayton Reid could feel his intestines turn green. He had fucked up this time, he had offended someone at the Divine realm. It seemed that there was no repair to this relationship, all he could do was turn back in regret. "My lord, we apologize for our incompetence!" The two guards got down on their knees and begged for forgiveness. "Next time, I don't care if it is the Chu king himself, no one is to enter my estate unless they have my permission. If you know what is good for you, let the others know, the consequences of not heeding my word is death." Yan Shou announced. "Yes, My lord!" The two guards bowed. By evening the whole city had known what had happened at Yan Shou's estate. Most of the people had found it funny that the City lord had to run away with his tail between his legs. Most of the citizens hated the City lord as he was overbearing with taxes and he threw his power around doing as he pleased. He would abduct females from the city and rape them from time to time as entertainment. Many of the citizens had wanted him dead, but there wasn't much they could do as the City lord was at the Imperial realm. Yan Shou had some workers install plants and trees around the mansion. He had a water fountain installed in the front by the mansion door and a pond at the back of the mansion. At the back of the mansion, by the pond, there Yan Shou was training his body. He was planning to start all over by training his body once again. For his exercise routine, he would practice swordsmanship in the morning and lift boulders in the afternoon. After a month of Yan Shou's arrive, he finally decided he need a break. His improvement throughout the month wasn't what he had expected. When he had initially arrived at the peak of the body realm he was able to life over 100 kg over his head. Now that he had reached the God realm, there wasn't a change in the amount his body could lift, but with the days of him training he only went from 100 kg to 105 kg. Everyone had considered that 100 kg was the peak of the Body realm, but now that Yan Shou had started over, what was the limit? Was 100 kg truly the peak of the Body realm? Yan Shou had followed what was set in front of him without questioning it for so long, now that he had started from scratch, he started to question as to who had set the standards. When he had begun cultivating, there wasn't a set cultivation rule. He just absorbed the energy, later on his journey, he heard of the cultivating system and started following it. He never questioned who set the system, he just followed it since he didn't know any better. It was thanks to Yang that he had started to question everything til now. It was currently dawn at Clayton, Yan Shou had decided to go for a walk to see the changes in the city. When he had first arrived, he had instantly went to look for an architecture to build his mansion and didn't explore the city. He had stayed in seclusion, in his tavern drinking for the one week, as he waited for his mansion to be built. Yan Shou was currently walking through the slums watching the poor wake up getting ready for work or getting ready for another day of begging on the streets. The people Yan Shou had hired, since his Mansion was big enough to house over 500 people and it was to big for himself, he allowed his guards and servants to live in the extra rooms. If they had family members he would allow the family to come live in the mansion, but they would receive a 1 gold deduction for every family member they brought. Currently inside of the Yan Shou's mansion there was only 21 room left unoccupied out of the 500 rooms. Yan Shou was quite gracious, he was trying to be human again. First, he needed to start interacting with others again and start placing his trust with others. It wasn't as easy as Yan Shou had thought, even though his house was filled with 479 people, he barely interacted with any of them. He had spent his days training his body leaving the only time to see anyone was when he ate. He had planned to use his personal butler, Cao Li, but in the end he just left him to manage the affairs of the mansion without bothering with anything. Cao Li was a Fire user at the Elemental realm, he had originally came to Clayton to start a new life. He was a criminal in the Lee Kingdom and had robbed many of the rich there. But karma had a way of getting to people, he didn't think that when he had arrived at Clayton, after making a large purchase, he would also be robbed. He was robbed by Clayton Reid, but with no backing or power he was forced to give up everything. His felt the bitter pain of karma and had joined a Wyvern hunting group. Wyvern hunting was too difficult as there was a 25% chance death, so when he heard of this offer from Yan Shou's estate, he had quit and rushed over to join. Due to Yan Shou's offer of hiring 240 guards, he had reduced the amount of Wyvern hunters in the city. Who would risk their lives for 10 gold a month with a 50% chance death for Spirit realm and 25% chance death at Elemental realm? They could just work for Yan Shou guarding his estate for 15-20 gold a month. A third of the Wyvern hunters had flocked to Yan Shou's estate and was hired, the two-thirds that didn't had regretted for not rushing over sooner. Most had thought it was a scam at first, but after learning of what had transpired between the City lord and Yan Shou, they became believers, only to find out Yan Shou was no longer hiring. The slums was pretty shitty, most people lived in small earth built sheds. Just living there they were taxed 1 gold a month, which was ridiculous. The people working in the slums only made about 2-4 gold a month, the cost of food for a size of 3 family a month was 2 gold alone. They were just making ends meet, never being able to save any money to move up in the world. They were unable to send their kids to an Academy, so that they can train and hopefully have a better future. Most of the people in the slums were still at the body realm, which was sad for a prospering city like Clayton. It took Yan Shou the whole morning to cover the slum area. He had to pretty much walk all round of the perimeter of the city. After seeing the scenes of the poor, it didn't really touch him to any extend, but he figured in order to be human, he would do something to help them. As to what he should do, he hadn't figured it out yet. He would later ask Cao Lee for some ideas after he got back home. Yan Shou's next target was the trade district, it was pretty much from every street going towards the center. The main trade district was the center of the city. The rich district was near Clayton Reid's castle, there stood small mansions. Each of the families that lived in these mansions had some sort of backing, so Clayton Reid didn't bother trying to offend these people. Many of the heads of these families that lived in the rich district were business managers or craftsmen sent from the Capital. Before looking around the trade district, Yan Shou wanted some food first. Currently at Yan Shou's level he could last one week without eating, but he enjoyed eating everyday, he loved food and wine too much to give it up. Yan Shou's favorite dish was chicken fried rice with some rice wine(sake). He decided to stop at a restaurant near the slums that specialized in making fried rice, it was broken down. The walls and floors were cracked and it looked like they needed an Earth user at the Elemental realm to come make repairs. The only problem was that it would cost them 30 gold to get a Earth user at the Elemental realm to repair their restaurant. The look of the restaurant didn't bother Yan Shou one bit, as long as the food was good was all he cared about. Before he even walked into the restaurant, he could smell the savory chicken fried rice, this was what had attracted him towards this certain restaurant. As the saying goes, 'looks can be deceiving'. Just because it was a broken down restaurant didn't mean that it didn't serve the best food. Above the entrance was a sign 'Happy Rice' these words actually made Yan Shou chuckle. Arriving at a table near the window, Yan Shou noticed that there wasn't a lot of customers inside. Besides himself there was one other, this person was cloaked with a long katana leaning on the table to the person's left. "Waiter, two dish of chicken fried rice and a bottle of sake!" Yan Shou ordered. "Okay!" Someone replied from the kitchen. When Yan Shou sat down, he felt that the cloaked person tried to probe Yan Shou with their spirit. Yan Shou grinned and gave the person's spirit a shock. The cloaked person's spirit retreated after being shocked. Yan Shou looked out the window and stared at the bustling streets, with kids running about, fooling around and enjoying life without a care in the world. Thinking back to his childhood, Yan Shou wished he could redo his childhood, maybe his life would have turned out differently. AUTHOR'S NOTES: So I won't be posting for awhile. If you guys like the story up to this point let me know. I don't like to copy other works too much, I feel that it would become boring just repeating the same type of story, where the MC is a weakling then suddenly was given a miraculous power that can bend the laws of everything. Also, if you've noticed, many of the characters in my book are similar in spelling. In Wanderer Yan Shou, Forgotten Xin Yan, then if you haven't read Nameless, the character is named Yang. Well the Yan part is from my first name Yang . Shou is from my middle name Shoua and the Xin is from my last name Xiong haha. Instead of reusing all those names like Lin Ming and that crap, I decided to use my own name for the MCs. If, you feel that my stories are starting to head in the same general direction of all those stories where some dude in the Sky Profound Realm is able to kill a Overlord (ATG) let me know. I don't want to bore those of you who read this book.

AUTHORS NOTES: Will probably only have time once a month to write this book now. Job has become a lot more busy. If you enjoy this book let me know.
7. COMPANION?
It took about 10 minutes before his dishes were complete. The cook himself brought out the food, he looked about 60 years old, he wasn't tall, being only 52 inches in height. The cook's food smelled delicious along with the warm sake. The smell had actually put a giant smile on Yan Shou's face. He was delighted as he couldn't wait any longer to dig in.
*munch* *munch*
Within a second he had downed his first plate after it had touched the table. The waiter/cook stared at Yan Shou shocked, he had never seen someone eating his food so viciously before.
"You can sure make chicken fried rice." Yan Shou complimented.
"Thank you." The waiter/cook slightly bowed.
"20 gold should be enough?" Yan Shou easily brought out 20 gold coins and laid them at the edge of the table near the cook.
"My lord, 20 gold is too much! Only 50 silvers will do." The waiter/cook bowed, trying to no offend Yan Shou.
"I only have gold on me, so accept it as a token of my appreciation of your skills."
"... Thank you, my lord." The cook quickly bowed towards Yan Shou a few times. "If there is anything else my lord needs, please don't hesitate to ask."
Yan Shou smiled and waved the cook away. He wanted to savor the second plate in peace a long with the bottle of warm sake. On top of the chicken fried rice was a special sauce, Yan Shou didn't know what it was and thought it might've been mustard mixed with something else. It was due to this sauce that the food had such a unique and delicious taste. The sake was also warmed to the right temperature, the warmth slowly filled his body as he took a gulp. Yan Shou's idea of savoring the second plate had only taken him 10 breaths of time, before it was completely cleaned. Yan Shou had ordered more warm sake and paid 1 gold per bottle. A bottle of sake was only worth 10 silver, but Yan Shou wasn't too picky also this man had made a great chicken fried rice, so he didn't mind paying 1 gold per bottle. It was a great compliment to pay the cook 20 gold for the initial food and 1 gold for a bottle of sake afterwards. The cook was shocked, he had never receive so much money before, after today he could probably move to a better location or rebuild his restaurant. After Yan Shou's 10th bottle of sake, the cloaked person got up from their seat and approached Yan Shou. The cloaked person was about 64 inches, it could be said that the long katana was just as long was the person. Yan Shou stared shocked at the length of the sword.
"What can I do for you?" Yan Shou asked. It was pretty obvious this person wanted something from him, the person had been waiting for him to finish his meal.
"I'd like to hire your service." The cloaked person said.
"Hire my service? haha... Does it look like I am in need of money?" Yan Shou laughed it off as a joke.
"What if I purchase your service with a lightning essence stone?" The cloaked person said.
"Lightning essence stone?" Yan Shou stared shocked at this person.
Although Yan Shou had no use for it, he was shocked that this person in front of him could obtain an essence stone. Yan Shou had mountains upon mountains of essence stones in his storage space. Yan Shou had purchased from the World bank of space a 100 acre space of room. The bank had to construct his space and customize it to Yan Shou's need. Yan Shou had paid them in essence stones for this project and had them keep their mouths shut. Only the higher ups of the bank knew of Yan Shou's identity.
"How did you obtain this Lightning essence stone?" Yan Shou questioned.
"I got lucky." The cloaked person replied.
"Lucky..." Yan Shou grinned. "Or I can just kill you right now and get this Lightning essence stone for free." Yan Shou smirked.
The cloaked person quickly got into a battle stance, ready to draw his/her weapon at any moment.
"Haha... I was just joking. How about you tell me how you really got this stone and what the job is and I might consider it?"
"Like I said, I got lucky, I killed a wyvern and it just so happened it had a Lightning essence stone inside of its corpse." The cloaked person replied. "I need someone to journey with me to the other-side of the mountain range. With your level, it shouldn't be a problem as you are above the Elemental realm."
"What is it that you seek on the other-side of the mountain range?"
"I can't tell you that."
"Sounds interesting!" Yan Shou had already been everywhere on the planet, so there wasn't a hidden place he didn't know. From what the cloaked person wanted to do, it could only mean that they wanted to go to four places in the mountain range.
"Do we have a deal?" The cloaked person asked in a hurry.
"Show me your appearance then I will consider it." Yan Shou grinned.
"Tsk..."
The cloaked person uncovered her face, she was a beauty, one that could rival the goddess Yin. Her face looked no more than 20 years old, she had an annoyed facial expression looking at Yan Shou in disgust. "Haha... what is with that look? You think I will take advantage of you? If you knew who I really was, you'd be trying to take advantage of me instead." Yan Shou laughed.
Her beauty wasn't enough to shake Yan Shou's heart. His heart was unshakable, as it no longer held a spot for love or lust for women. The woman continued to frown at Yan Shou.
"Okay... okay... we have a deal, but I don't need your Lightning essence stone. I just want to know where this place you intend to head to." Yan Shou said. "By the way what is your name? or should I just call you woman."
"Chen Chunhua." She looked at Yan Shou unhappily.
"Allow me to finish my business first, you can find me tomorrow morning at the Estate at the slums, you can't miss it." Yan Shou smiled.
Hearing those words, Chen Chunhua covered her face and headed out of the restaurant. Yan Shou watched her through the window as she retreated into an alleyway. Only criminals cloaked themselves and used alleyways to move. Yan Shou wonder who this female could have been, when he probed her earlier, he found that she was only at the Elemental realm, this was good enough to survive in the mountain ranges by herself if she was cautious. The main object that attracted his attention was the long katana, this was the only reason he had decided to take on this mission.
Finishing his meal, Yan Shou left an additional 20 gold at the table as he walked out. It was time he explored the trade district. He wanted to gain some ideas for a business. Although he had unlimited amount of Gold coins in his spatial ring, he wanted to try and earn some money like a human. Yan Shou walked through the entire trade district, but didn't find any business that caught his interest.
Arrive back to his mansion at night, he told the Cao Li that he was expecting a cloaked female in her 20's tomorrow. He also gave him 20,000 gold to manage the staff while he was going to be gone. After giving him instructions for managing the mansion, Yan Shou pulled an additional 50,000 gold coins and told Cao Li to purchase another 5 acre of land next to his current one and gave a blue print of what to Yan Shou wanted built. Yan Shou also told Cao Li to hire an additional 300 people from the slums with different skill sets. Yan Shou wasn't sure what type of business to start yet, but he wanted the foundations of his business to be ready upon his return.
Yan Shou had planned to expand the Mansion creating more rooms for the 300 personnel he was about to hire. The plans for the land next to his mansion was going be made up of two buildings, one would be 10 stories high, the other would be three stories high. Since it was going to be a business type land, he planned to have small business buildings built around the two main buildings. He was planning to turn that location into the center of the business within Clayton. Yan Shou knew that there were a lot of business in Clayton, but the quality of the items weren't that great. He was planning on focusing on quality over quantity.
Yan Shou had gathered a lot of items in his person throughout his three thousand years of being alive. Most were equipment and items that he found no use for. He had mountains of Essence stones that just sat in his spatial ring that he didn't plan to ever use, so it was time that he sold them off. He thought of bringing about a business selling Essence stone, but the release of too many essence stone at once would shock the human world and bring the entire human race into turmoil. Yan Shou figured he could slowly release Essence stones as this will be the main attraction of his businesses.
Lying down on Yan Shou's bed, he slowly faded into the darkness again. He dreamt of his past lover. He thought that they would always be together and that one day she would bare his children. He was at the Spirit realm at the time, she too was at the Spirit realm. It had been 20 years since the world came to having the ability to control the elements. He had known her for 5 years and they have traveled pretty much the entire mountain range of the what used to be called the Shu kingdom, now the Chu kingdom.
It skipped to the scene, where he laid on the ground where he had been betrayed by her. There with four other people looking down at him. A person was standing next to her and the other two standing at the entrance of the cave, blinding the two's facial features.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to lie to you for so long. I'm sorry... I did love you, but..." She said while sobbing.
"Weng Bo, lets go we got what we wanted."
"I'm sorry..." Weng Bo apologized one last time as the group walked out of the cave.
"AHH!!!"
Yan Shou woke up screaming. He still hadn't figured out how he had survived that day. When he had awoken his body that should have had a stab wound at his heart was gone, no scab or scar indicating of anything ever happening. Upon his scream, guards rushed into his room.
"Lord, are you alright!?" The guard captain asked, as he rushed in with his weapon drawn.
"It's nothing, go back." Yan Shou waved him off with his other hand against his head.
At dawn Chen Chunhua appeared at the estate gate. At first the guards had thought she was an enemy because of what had happened last night, but they quickly remembered, what they were told the day before. As fast as they drew their weapons, they sheathed them.
"Are you Chen Chunhua?" Cao Li asked as he approached the gate with a smile.
Chen Chunhua nodded to Cao Li's question.
"Good, if you'll follow me, the Lord is awaiting for you, please, he had asked that you have breakfast with him." Cao Li gestured for Chen Chunha to follow.
Chen Chunhua had already had an idea of who Yan Shou was, it wasn't too hard to get information on him, as he had easily defeated the City lord, also proclaimed that even if the Chu king appeared he isn't allowed to enter Yan Shou's estate without his permission. Chen Chunhua had originally thought Yan Shou was at the Imperial realm, but after hearing the story of Yan Shou, she now knew he was possibly at the Saint realm. As the gates opened up, Chen Chunhua followed Cao Li towards the mansion. It wasn't long before they reached the mansion.
Chen Chunhua stared at the mansion dazed, she hadn't seen such a beautiful place before. She had traveled a great distance to Clayton, but the amount of masions she'd seen couldn't compare to Yan Shou's mansion.
"I know dazzling isn't it?" Cao Li commented.
"En." Chen Chunhua nodded.

8. Journey
Inside the dinning room, there was an awe feeling. Decorations all over the walls and fresh flowers in designed pots sat neatly on stands. There was a 10 ft glass window with an goddess image engraved behind the head seat. The table could host up to 20 people. Even with all of the decorations and the long, large table, there was still plenty of room to move about in the room. Walking into the room, Chen Chunhua felt like she had entered into a different dimension, she had never seen such designs before and she was from a wealthy background.
"Come sit." Yan Shou gestured to a seat to his left. The food had looked like they were just cooked as they still had steam floating off them. The most appetizing dish was the chicken with herbs. Chen Chunhua could spell it from the other side of the room. Slowly making her way around the large table she reached her seat. The chair wasn't your ordinary wooden chair, it had carvings of sea dragons all along it's edges and had padded cushions on the seat and back rest. Even the cushions had designs of a winged dragon on them.
"Thank you for this meal." Chen Chunhua was very polite.
"Not a problem, come let's eat." Yan Shou smiled as he began to eat.
*munch* *munch* *munch*
"So *munch* *munch* where is it exactly in the mountain *munch* *munch* do you plan to *gulp* go?" Yan Shou said as food came flying out of his mouth.
From the side, Cao Li came to Yan Shou's right side and laid out a map of the Mountain region to Chen Chunhua.
Unlike Yan Shou, Chen Chunhua was eating like a noblewomen. She had a cloth tucked in her blouse to prevent food from staining her clothes even though she wore a cloak.
"I plan to go to this mountain." Chen Chunhua pointed towards a mountain close to the ocean.
Yan Shou had frowned when he saw which mountain she had pointed to. That particular mountain held a lot of memories for him. After seeing the mountain she had wanted to head towards, Yan Shou actually hesitated for a moment. Chen Chunhua had saw his hesitation and sighed on the inside. Towards the center of the mountain range there exist a legend that a Demi-God realm Lightning dragon had lived there. In order to get there at the fastest time, they had to cross near the Lightning dragon's lair.
"If you're unwilling, it is fine. I just figured that with your help, I have a higher chance of survival." Chen Chunhua said dejectedly.
"No, I'll go. I was just remembering some memories." Yan Shou stated.
After finishing breakfast, the two headed towards the trade district to make preparation for the long journey. It would take at least one years of time by foot to reach the the mountain they planned to go to. Yan Shou had left additional gold to Cao Li because of the long journey and information as to what he wanted done with the new buildings built. Yan Shou needed more guards, someone at the Imperial realm if possible, he told Cao Li to put out an ad for at least 5 Imperial realm guards, the price was 200 gold as the initial payment and 30 gold coins a month. The reason he wanted Imperial realm guards was in case Clayton Reid tried to cause problems for his estate while he was gone. He had also left a sound transmition talisman with Cao Li for emergencies.
After gathering up the necessary goods for the journey, Yan Shou and Chen Chunhua set off towards the mountain ranges. As they walked through the mountains, Yan Shou thought about his past when he was in the Spirit form and how he had journeyed with his group. They had encountered life threatening situations as they were all at the Spirit realm. There was 7 of them, they called themselves the fearless seven. They were all in their 20's, young, and fearless believing they were invincible.
While walking, Yan Shou would appear out of it. Chen Chunhua would stare at Yan Shou for he had no fear journeying into the mountain ranges that he could day dream. She knew full well the dangers of the mountain range as she had to leave a few times due to being outnumbered by Wyvern hunters and wyverns themselves along with other beasts crawling within the mountain range. Wyverns weren't the only beast in the mountain range, there were Ligers, a mix bread of lions and tigers; Vampers, a poisonous snake that could kill anyone below the level of Saint with a bite. These were the main threats in the mountain range, there were other beast, but they weren't as much of a problem as the Ligers and Vampers.
After traveling for two days, they finally encountered a Liger. Ligers normally traveled in a group of 6 and was at the Spirit realm, so to any Spirit realm, these Ligers were a head ache. Looking at these Chen Chunhua wasn't too afraid, as there was Yan Shou with her. She had pretty much expected that Yan Shou would do all of the fighting. She back up and tried to get behind Yan Shou, but she was in for a big surprise. Yan Shou back up 20 ft behind Chen Chunhua in a second leaving her no place to hide.
"I'll support, you'll be doing majority of the fighting." Yan Shou smirked as he stared at the ugly expression on Chen Chunhua's face.
"Fuck!" Chen Chunhua cursed as she drew her katana.
Taking on 6 Ligers at the Spirit realm by herself was impossible. They all were at the same realm as her, if it was one she would have been fine, but 6, she didn't even know what type of support Yan Shou planned to give her. She could only grit her teeth as she had thought that, Yan Shou would take care of majority of the problems. Since she was outnumbered she had to make the first move otherwise she would be at the disadvantage. Forgetting everything she dash forward towards the nearest Liger towards her right.
She had tried to upper slash the liger, but to her surprise, it blocked it with its claws. The claws were just as hard as her long katana, which was made of steel. Having failed in her upper slash, she struck the Liger in the nose with the hilt.
RAWR!
The Liger was enraged from being struck in the nose. It took a swipe at Chen Chunhua. She was too close to dodge the attack, her only choice was to take on the swipe and follow on with her own attack. Just as she thought she was going to be struck its paw stopped 1 foot away from her face. Electricity was flowing around the liger's paw immobilizing it. Following her instincts, she went for the jugular cutting it clean. The liger instantly fell down with the cut, it hadn't taken much effort for her to cut through it's neck.
When she turned to look towards Yan Shou giving a nudge of appreciation. She turned to look at the last 5 ligers and was shocked to find that they were all immobilized by an electrical field. She now knew what Yan Shou had meant when he said he would support her. The electrical field was released on one of the Ligers and as soon it was, it charged towards Chen Chunhua. Ligers specialized in wind movements, it had only taken it a breath time to appear in front of her. The sudden appearance of the Liger in front of her had shocked her, putting up her sword to guard against its bite.
The Liger bit down on the katana and swiped at Chen Chunhua with its right claws aiming at her arms. She had no choice but to let go of her weapon, she started chanting as she retreated.
"Implosion!" Chen Chunhua had cast a fire spell.
Flames imploded in front of the Liger's face, making it release the long katana.
RAWR!
The Liger stared at both Chen Chunhua and Yan Shou angrily. It wanted to escape, but it knew it could no longer escape especially with Yan Shou there. Its only way out was to kill Chen Chenhua or death. It would at least try and take Chen Chunhua down with it. The Liger casted wind blades at her while simultaneously casting a wind movement. The wind blades were meant as an distraction while the liger moved behind her.
Chen Chunhua felt a breeze behind her and instantly knew what the liger had planned, she immediately dodged to the right as the liger was making a swipe with its left claws. She had barely managed to dodge the incoming strike, it had shredded her cloak and clothing underneath revealing her left breast. She didn't have time to be shy as there was a follow on attack from the liger, it had cast 'oxygen toxicity' around her. The situation had turned for the worst, she had become light headed. The only option for her was to cast Flame wall, it was an defensive move creating a flame wall where she had wanted it. If she wasn't careful and landed that attack within Oxygen toxicity, she would have ended up injuring herself due to the condense oxygen in the space.
The liger had to retreat due to the flame wall, but Chen Chunhua was in a horrible situation, she had become light headed due to the oxygen intoxication. She could barely see straight at the moment.
"You've done a good job, leave the rest to me."
Lightning snakes shot from the sky and charred the remaining 5 ligers. With that scene, Chen Chunhua fainted.
When she awoke, it was night and there was the liger she had killed being roasted above the fire. She immediately sat up and scanned her surroundings, Yan Shou was off to the side training his swordsmanship. After checking the surrounding she quickly checked herself, she covered up her breast area immediately and stared down. She had noticed that her cloak was removed and her shirt had been replace with a new one. She stared embarrassingly at Yan Shou with an angry expression.
"Did you see!?" She interrogated Yan Shou.
"Why bother asking that question when you already know the answer." Yan Shou answered without a slight reaction in his facial expression.
"Just answer me!" She yelled!
"Yeah, so what of it?"
"What of it? You've defiled my body!"
"It's only breasts, not a big deal, calm down and eat." Yan Shou shrugged not giving a damn about her feelings.
Chen Chunhua was angry, but the feeling of hunger took over her body, she continued to give Yan Shou the evil eye as she pulled a leg off the cooked liger and ate it. Yan Shou was covered in sweat as he swung his sword. She couldn't understand why Yan Shou was training his body, he should have already reached the peak of the body realm. It is understandable to master the swordsmanship as it becomes useful later in Imperial realm when you had to create your attack moves. Combining a spell with a sword strike was definitely powerful if applied correctly. She began to think that Yan Shou should be at the Imperial realm. After having her fill, she didn't want to bother rebuking Yan Shou since it would only make her angrier. Knowing that she had no power to resist, it was best that she just went back to sleep. The 'oxygen toxicity' still had an affect on her. She was at least glad he didn't violate her while she was unconscious. It wasn't long until she fell into a deep sleep from the warmth of the fire and her light headedness.

CHAPTER 9:
9. TROUBLES
Chen Chunhua awoke at the break of dawn. The sunlight pierced her eyelids forcing her to wake up. She can hear the early morning birds sing to the rise of the sun. It was a refreshing feeling compared to waking up to the noise of the busy streets in the cities. Chen Chunhua sat up and stretched her arms with a smile on her face, she hadn't gotten a night of good sleep in a while and last night was the best she had in the last two months.
She immediately scanned for Yan Shou, to her surprise he was nowhere to be found. Her face suddenly turned sour, did he abandon her last night? She suddenly heard a loud cracking noise above the cliff she was sleeping so soundless underneath. She immediately reached for her katana leaning against the bottom of the cliff.
"Don't need to be so surprised." Yan Shou said as he floated down.
"How is it that you can fly? Aren't you a Lightning user?" Chen Chunhua questioned.
"You'll understand one day when you've reached a certain realm." Yan Shou lightly smiled at Chen Chunhua.
"Shall we get moving? We still have a long ways to go before we are even close to the center of the mountain region." Yan Shou suggested.
"En." Chen Chunhua nodded as she stood up preparing to leave.
"Just who are you?" Chen Chunhua questioned as she started to walk.
"Someone who is particularly interested in that sword you wield and why you want to go towards the Spring of Eternal Youth." Yan Shou once again smiled as he said these words.
"How do you know that I want to go to the Spring of Eternal Youth." She said with a frown while putting up her guard.
"Haha... don't worry, I have already been there. I just want to know why you want to go there is all." Yan Shou grinned.
Chen Chunhua glared at Yan Shou not believing his words. What could she do, she was the one who had asked him to accompany her. Since he had been to the Spring of Eternal Youth already, it was obvious, he could easily transverse there without her. If he had wanted to rob her of the Lightning Essence stone, he would have already killed her or let her be eaten by the ligers. She couldn't quite figure him out, he was too mysterious. The only thing she knew was that with him by her side, she would have a chance of reaching there alive compared to her previous attempts.
"Come, let's stop wasting daylight."
"Oh, just to let you know, to sharpen my swordsmanship, I won't be using any elemental skills unless we are in a dire situation."
"What!?" Chen Chunhua was clearly angry, this was no better than her transverse through these mountains herself.
"Don't worry, I won't let us die at the very least. Hahaha..." Yan Shou laughed as he walked into the valley.
After walking til the afternoon through the valley, they suddenly came upon human skeletons. There were some corpse that looked as if they had died no more than 3 days ago. Mountain wolves were feeding on the dead's flesh. When they both approached this area, the attention of the Mountain wolves turned to them. With a howl, they informed the rest of the pack that there was a threat.
"Ugh... more trouble. Get ready to fight!" Yan Shou commanded as he drew his sword.
Chen Chunhua was surprised that Yan Shou was using a plain sword instead of an enchanted weapon. Her long katana had a fire enchantment on it, but it had a backlash to it and she didn't want to use it unless it was a life or death situation. Her long katana would absorb all of her energy to create a blue flame aura around the sword being able to cut even the hardest metal titanium. With her current level, she didn't have enough energy to sustain more than one attack. It was risky, but it was better to have than do nothing and be killed.
"You take care of the three to the right, I'll take care of the rest." Just as Yan Shou finished those words, he dashed towards the rest.
The pack of wolves was 15 total which was unusual, they usually traveled in a pack of 6 or 7. This one was double the size of a regular pack and they were all at the Energy realm. Surprisingly the leader of the pack was at the Elemental realm. The leader of the pack just sat at the back observing the strength of both Chen Chunhua and Yan Shou.
Yan Shou wasn't relying on his elemental laws or abilities at all, he was purely using all physical strength. His dash was slow enough that the wolves saw him coming. Each wolf cast Earth spike on Yan Shou, thinking he was an easy target. Chen Chunhua didn't have time to bother with Yan Shou, she was fighting against three wolves at once. She would cast flame wall to help control the angles the wolves attacked from. Wolves were natural at fast movement even without being wind users along with earth spells they were tough to fight against, even for a Spirit realm.
Just as the wolves thought they had Yan Shou with their Earth spikes, he had easily dodged each spike with a weird movement. It had looked like he was dancing the way he moved. Each step was profound, as the wolves couldn't tell which direction he was planning to move. Before they knew it Yan Shou had arrived at a wolf slashing its throat. The wolf didn't even have time to react to Yan Shou's vertical slash.
Half of the wolves cast quicksand underneath Yan Shou while the rest cast Earth spikes and earth wall. Unlike what they had expected, the quicksand didn't slow Yan Shou at all, he moved at ease in the quicksand and dodged the Earth Spikes. The earth wall was to obscure his vision, but it wasn't a problem for Yan Shou. Yan Shou just leaped on top of the earth wall and stared down at the wolves. Jumping down, Yan Shou easily moved between the wolves and slit their throats, although they had tried to resist and attack Yan Shou, it was all for naught.
AAAWWWOOO!!!
After killing 7 of the wolves, the Alpha wolf couldn't watch any more of its subordinates died. It had called the wolves back leaving Yan Shou to the pack leader. Instantly the pack leader summoned 12 stone wolves charging at Yan Shou, along with itself charging in for the kill. Yan Shou took side steps and easily cut down at the base of the neck destroying each stone wolf that charged at him. Finally, it was the Alpha wolf's turn.
Chen Chunhua just had killed the last of the three wolves she was fighting and stared shock at Yan Shou. He was able to easily cut through the stone wolves with a regular looking sword. Yan Shou had used pure strength and technique to cut through the wolves and nothing else. She stared shock with each movement he made, he didn't use unnecessary moves dodging the wolves and was able to fight them while using only the body realm.
The Alpha wolf had cast multiple spells, bombarding Yan Shou. He had easily dodged each spell waiting for the Alpha wolf to exhaust himself. The Alpha could no longer endure the embarrassment and howled for the retreat of the rest of the pack. Survival was first and the Alpha wolf knew that he had been outmatched. He could try and attack with the last of his pack, but they would all be sending themselves to their deaths.
The swordsman skills and movements Yan Shou had displayed was a long lost skill. After the rise of elemental users, the humans started to concentrate more towards using element in fighting and had long forgotten the old skills left behind by their ancestors. These moves Yan Shou had used was taught to him by an old swords master, whose school was declining due to the elemental users. The swords master didn't want his legacy to die, so he had taught it to Yan Shou before his death. Yan Shou never really put much effort towards learning these skills after he had reached the peak of the body realm.
Now that he had started from square one again, he had remembered these movements and skills and started to sharpen them again. A solid foundation was important, Yan Shou knew that. Many of the elemental users, once they reached the Elemental realm and above, they start to rely on their elemental attacks and less on physical attacks. Although at the Imperial realm, you combined the elemental attacks with physical attacks, it was far weakened as they lack the proper skill to pull off the moves successfully. Now that Yan Shou thought about it, did he ever really reach the peak of the physical form?
Yan Shou started to think that maybe the forms up til the elemental realm were always ongoing, that you can truly never reach the peak. Was it possible to skip these realms and immediately go to the Elemental realm? Yan Shou had tried to before when he tried to comprehend the other elements but failed to generate any results. Yan Shou had needed the lightning dantian in order to use lightning. It would mean that he needed a water dantian to use water and so on.
Yan Shou had finally figured out what he had done wrong for so long.
"Hahaha..." Yan Shou started to laugh like a madman.
The laugh had scared Chen Chunhua, she thought Yan Shou had finally lost his mind.
"Are you okay?" Chen Chunhua asked timidly.
"Life is a funny thing." Yan Shou smiled and walked forth.
"What!?" Chen Chunhua was confused by his words.
"It seems you are quite capable to have made the Alpha wolf retreat." A voice echoed above the valley.
Dozens of figures appeared over the ledge on both sides of the valley. These people were dressed in animal hide with bows and a short dagger as their weapon. It was the Liger gang; they were called the Liger gang cause they wore liger hide and robbed travelers in this one valley. They were the cause of all the skeletons and dead bodies in the valley. Normally they'd let the wolves handle the travelers afterward head down to take their belongings. The ones the wolves couldn't handle, they would assist by shooting arrows or sometimes do it themselves.
Chen Chunhua and Yan Shou looked toward the ledges. There was more than 100 people among them.
"Is this considered life threatening?" Chen Chunhua asked.
"Nope." Yan Shou stated plainly.
"What!? There are more than 100 of them and only 2 of us."
"I'll take care of this." Yan Shou smiled.
"Give up everything you have and we might consider letting you live." A coarse and dry voice sounded out from the many thieves.
The thieves made a hole and a rough looking man in his 30's stepped forward. He had a claw scar across his face and was missing his left hand. Replacing his left hand was a knife attached to a wooden stump strapped around his wrist.
"What should I call you?" Yan Shou shouted.
"For a person who is probably going to die, you don't need to know. But since I am feeling generous today as you have delivered me a such a beauty, I'll bestow you the honor of knowing my name. I am Chang Liger, III of the Liger gang." Chang Liger announced smugly.
Staring at Chang Linger's face, it reminded him of someone he once saved. He remembered he had once received something from that person he saved all those years ago.
"Maybe you might be able to recognize this!" Yan Shou pulled a crest out of his ring. Yan Shou tossed it towards Chang Liger.
Chang Liger caught the crest and stared at it shocked. It was his family crest! Their family used to be a aristocrat family, but due to the opposing family framing them, they were executed. His grandfather had escaped as a child and made his way towards Clayton, where he made a name for himself and later created the Liger gang. It was obvious that Chang Liger knew his family history, but there was only two crest, one his grandfather has and the other he had given it to his savior.
Chang Liger looked down at the crest and back at Yan Shou. Yan Shou looked no older than 27 years of age, how is it possible that he had this crest.
"I'm sure you should recognize this crest. Your old man gave it to me when I saved his life, at the time I didn't want it and had no use for it, but it seems that it finally came into use." Yan Shou laughed at karma.
"Everyone! Lower your weapons!" Chang Liger commanded.

10. Promise
"If you will follow us, We will take you to our hideout." Chang Liger III said.
Although Chang Linger, III had received his family crest from Yan Shou, he was suspicious of him. Especially, how Yan Shou had stated that he had saved Chang Liger, III's grandfather.
"If you'd please." Yan Shou smiled.
Chen Chunhua just looked at Yan Shou shocked. How old was Yan Shou? The average life span of a human was only 100 years. The realm had nothing to do with allowing them to live longer than 100 years. Yan Shou did say he had been to the Spring of Eternal Youth, could it possibly exist? Her reverence for Yan Shou rose to another level.
"If you will wait, one of our men will head down there and guide you to us." Chang Liger III said.
"Not a problem, I'm not in any rush at the moment."
Chang Liger withdrew his men from the ledge and had them head back to the hideout to inform his grandfather of Yan Shou's arrival.
"Well, it should be a while, how about we cook one of these wolves while we wait." Yan Shou suggested.
Yan Shou immediately walked towards one of the corpses that Chen Chunhua had killed and lifted it by its hind leg. Pulling out a knife, Yan Shou skinned the wolf, it had only taken about 20 breaths of time before Yan Shou was done. Grabbing a broken spear from nearby, Yan Shou stabbed it through the wolf's butthole to its mouth. Yan Shou glanced at an open spot and a flame burst, he struck the end of the spear into the ground hanging the skinned wolf directly over the fire.
"Aren't you a Lightning user?" Chen Chunhua questioned.
There were too many things that Chen Chunhua didn't know about Yan Shou. Every moment she spent with him, she felt him become more mysterious.
"Like I've said before you will understand one day if you ever have the chance. You'll know when the time is right." Yan Shou left her with those words.
Chen Chunhua frowned at his words, he never explains anything to her, only leaving everything as a giant mystery. She didn't enjoy being in the dark, Yan Shou had the right though, he had gained this knowledge himself. No one had taught him anything, everything he had today, was gained from his own strength. Yan Shou couldn't care too much about what Chen Chunhua thought or felt, he was just interested as to why she wanted to go to the Spring of Eternal Youth and how she knew of it.
The Liger gang guide finally arrived after Yan Shou and Chen Chunhua had finished eating the wolf's corpse. The meat had a rough texture, but it wasn't too bad. Yan Shou didn't really mind what he ate too much. Filling his stomach was pretty much the main objective. Chen Chunhua didn't really have much of the wolf as the meat was too hard for her, after taking about two to three bites she tossed the meat away.
"If you'd follow me." The Liger gang guide said gesturing for them to follow him.
"Well, shall we?" Yan Shou gestured for Chen Chunhua to take the lead.
She walked pass Yan Shou annoyed not bothering to glace at him as she walked towards the guide. It was already near dusk and they needed a place to rest for the night. She wasn't too excited to spend the night with skeleton and corpses. If the Liger gang hideout had a bed and bath it would be great as she hadn't bathed in a while. She was too used to the good life, but what could you say she was a female. They bleed periodically between their legs and threw tantrums that could drive a man insane.
The hideout was quite the walk unlike what they had expected. By the time they arrived at the hideout, it was already dark and the location was a dug in cave. There was a wooden door catching any light that tried to escape and two armed guards with spears and a bow. The interior was quite nice as they had a lot of earth users dug out the interior of the mountain and turned it into a base. There was awe feeling to it, it was really nice on the inside unlike what they had imagined.
They were led about 100 m when they reached a large open room with multiple tunnels running through it. There in the center was a fire pit and some logs for seats. Chang Liger, III was sitting on one of the logs enjoying a cup of wine. Gesturing at Yan Shou once he saw him come and join him.
"Come, come, sit! My grandfather wants to meet you, he has been bedridden, but when he heard that you were coming, he had mustered up what energy he had left to get up." Chang Liger said.
"When I met him he was about 11 years old. He should be about 70 years old now correct?" Yan Shou asked.
"Yes, he is 79 years old today. He was quite unlucky as he was poisoned a few months ago in the mountains. Since then, we have just been trying to prolong his life. He was quite happy about the news of you, he said he would have no regrets if, he was to see you before he died." Chang Liger said.
"What poisoned him?" Yan Shou asked.
"He was poisoned by a cobra, luckily it wasn't a Vamper." Chang Liger sighed.
There was a long moment of silence as they stared into the flames. Yan Shou didn't really care actually, he had long lost the feeling of being close to any human being. You could say, he has transcended. The fact that he is the only human to live over the age of 100, currently known, along with the constant betrayals in his life. Yan Shou was trying to be human again, but after living a lifestyle for thousands of years, it wasn't easy to change so suddenly. The firewood was crackling and small sparks were constantly darting out from the flame pit. It was quite relaxing to stare at, losing oneself in the flames. The warmth of the fire spreading through the body from the front to back. Suddenly, there was a sound that came from one of the tunnels, it was the sound of a wooden cane stabbing the rocks. The sound got closer and before long a shadowy figure appeared, in the light, it was an old man full of wrinkles and a deadly pale face. The old man was being supported by a cane and a middle-aged man, his body was slowly being drug towards the fire.
"Child, bring me next to my savior. I want to properly see his face." The old man said weakly.
"En." The middle-aged man nodded his head helping his old man towards the log Yan Shou and Chen Chunhua sat on. The middle-aged man slowly sat the old man down on the log placing him right next to Yan Shou.
"You haven't changed one bit from when you saved me 68 years ago." The old man said in shock.
"You don't look too bad for being 79 years old and close to death's door." Yan Shou replied.
"Haha..." the old man laughed sickly.
"I didn't think you would be doing so well after I left you at the village, Yun."
"Huh... life was hard, I had to struggle through life and death experiences, in order to survive. Just when I thought life had taken a turn for the better, it was just a mirage." The old man's eyes turned sad.
"Is that why you changed your name from Chang Tai to Chang Liger?"
*cough* *cough* "Life plays jokes on people." Chang Tai coughed out blood as he said these words.
"FATHER!" Chang Tai's son shouted as he rushed over.
"Don't worry, I will die soon anyway." Chang Tai waved his hand, stopping his son.
"My son, Gui'er... we have been unfortunate in this life. I had hoped for a better future for him, but this is all I could do." Chang Tai's eye started to slowly close.
"Qiuyue..." With those last words, Chang Tai went into his eternal sleep with a smile on his face.
"FATHER!!!" Chang Gui mourned.
The next morning the Liger gang threw a funeral in Chang Tai's honor. The funeral had lasted all day and ended with the burning of his corpse. The entire gang went into mourning for the entire day and at night as they all prayed for his safe passage into reincarnation. At night after the funeral, Chang Gui had approached Yan Shou outside of the base.
"Father always talk about gaining our prestige back. He had often told the tale of how you saved him that day." Chang Gui was drunk with a gourd wine bottle in hand.
"I remember that day, I don't interact with the human world much, but when I do, I always remember them." Yan Shou replied.
"Haha... he had told me, that day he was being pursued at night through the Changxu woods, right outside of Changsha. There he encountered you, sitting by a fire roasting a boar." Chang Gui said as he offered Yan Shou the gourd bottle.
"I remember, I was quite annoyed actually. I was relaxing and enjoying the night when a boy appeared out of nowhere, using me to slow down his pursuers. I had thought about allowing him to be captured, but then I looked at his eyes, he reminded me of myself, so I ended up saving him." Yan Shou took the gourd bottle and took a gulp and handed it back
"... haha... it sounds funny hearing the story from your point of view. The way my father had made you out to be, was this majestic being. I can believe it though, you haven't aged one bit, you look a lot younger than my son, Chang Xiao."
"Why did your father name you all Liger?"
"... I'm sure you've been to Clayton correct?"
Yan Shou nodded in silence.
"All of these people, they have a grudge against the Clayton family, they all have been wronged by them in some way or form." Chang Gui paused and took a swig from the gourd. "My father, after having some accomplishments, he moved to Clayton with my mother and me. What we didn't expect was for Clayton Seed to take an interest to my mother. We were powerless as he kidnapped her, raped her and let his men rape her before killing her. With no power, we could only grit our teeth hoping to one day get revenge. Everyone here wants revenge, but since the Clayton household has the backing of the Chu royal family, there is nothing we can do, but to go into hiding one day hoping to get revenge."
Yan Shou was quiet for a long time, thinking about something as he stared at the stars. With Yan Shou's silence, Chang Gui went back inside to rest for the night. Yan Shou continued to look at the night sky, remembering the 11-year-old Chang Tai that he had saved. That night that he had encountered Chang Tai, his clothes were tattered with multiple cuts on his body. The glare that the boy gave him, the feeling that it gave him. He felt like he saw his past self, if it wasn't for that, he would have left the boy to his fate.
It wasn't hard to take care of the boy's pursuers, they were only at the Spirit realm. After taking care of the pursuers, Yan Shou had offered the boy some boar, he didn't know if, it was out of sympathy or closeness to the boy, but he had done something he rarely does. The next morning Yan Shou had brought the boy with him on his journey. They had traveled across the kingdom Wu to Chu and later left him at a small village called Yun. The boy had given Yan Shou his family crest in gratification. It could be said Yan Shou had done a great deal for a boy, that he didn't even know. Yan Shou could have just left the boy after saving his life, but instead, he brought the boy across the border to another kingdom to start anew.
It was the same with the boy, Yang. When Yan Shou saw his eyes, he had felt a sense of closeness to him. Those eyes were the same ones he used to have, as he stared at the world. He later met Weng Bo and changed as he fell in love with her. He was happy and his life was full of bliss only to all be an illusion. The pain of betrayal numbed all senses, it severed his human emotions.
Yan Shou soon faded into the darkness. He dreamed of when he was 16 years old, he was at the Energy realm and was being chased through the mountains. He had found a sword made of pure gold and was being pursued by the group of people he thought were his allies. He had met this group of people a month ago and had joined them on a treasure hunt. They all met at a mountain village that no longer existed, the group were childhood friends while Yan Shou was an outsider. He had placed his trust in this group and they had gone through a few life and death situations. They finally hit a treasure trove, but since Yan Shou had gotten the most priceless item, the golden sword, the rest of the party had gotten jealous. The golden sword was decorated with diamonds on the sheath, it was found in a hidden room through a small crack. In their jealousy, they planned to kill Yan Shou in his sleep. Yan Shou had actually fallen for their trick and was awoke from a rock being knocked. Luckily he had woken in time and moved, the person who stabbed at him had aimed for his heart, but because Yan Shou moved, the person stabbed his left shoulder instead. He retreated under the cover of the night and had jumped off a cliff into a river below, barely surviving the ordeal.

11. LIGER LAIR
At dawn, the Liger gang were woken up by the morning guard shift. The members were all preparing for the days hunt, their main preys were Ligers. The Liger gang had a rule, for every one liger they fought, they would have two gang members fighting it. This was to ensure the safety of the gang members, as it would become a headache later if, too many of them kept receiving injuries and dying. Injuries could be healed to a certain extent, but it still needed time to heal. Healing magic only assisted the healing process.
The clattering of the weapons and stomping of the boots had awoken Yan Shou and Chen Chunhua. The first thing Yan Shou did was send an electrical wave throughout his body and clothes. The electrical wave went throughout his outer body and onto his clothing cleansing it. Feeling refreshed, Yan Shou went to locate Chen Chunhua, she was located two rooms to the left of his. the liger gang were all busy moving about, as they slipped by Yan Shou to gather in the War room.
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
"Don't come in!" Chen Chunhua warned, as Yan Shou was about to open the door.
"I'll meet you in the War room, it is to the right outside of your door, all the way down the hall." Yan Shou instructed.
"I'll be there in a bit." Chen Chunhua replied hastily
Yan Shou scratched his head, as he walked towards the War room. As he approached the war room, he could see that it was crowded with the men of the gang, there wasn't a woman in sight. All of them were staring attentively to Chang Gui. His father had died last night, but it seemed that this didn't affect him one bit. He stood strong in front of his people, as if ready to lead them into war.
"Last night, our father, Chang Tai had died and went towards a new better life. Today, we will kill the Liger king in his honor and send him with a powerful guardian into his next life."
"RAH!!!" The entire place went into a frenzy, as they raised their weapons.
In between the shouting, Chen Chunhua had walked beside Yan Shou, looking at the group of warriors.
"Men prepare in 30 mins to move out!" Chang Gui commanded, as he walked towards Yan Shou.
"It is quite lively this morning, in most cultures, the dead would be mourned for, but in yours it seems too festive."
"Haha... it is our way of doing things, when one of ours dies, we kill a Liger to send with him or her as a guardian in their next life."
“...” Yan Shou nodded his head slightly in understanding. "Mind if I join you on this journey, it is in route towards our destination anyways. We will be in the back, observing only." Yan Shou requested.
"It would be our honor for you to join us. With you there, our luck might increase. Haha..." Chang Gui laughed merrily, as he thought Yan Shou was going to be helping them.
"Then, we will also make our preparations, after the Liger lair, we plan to continue on our journey."
"By the way, where are you two headed towards, may I ask?"
"To the west, pass the dragon lair."
"PASS THE DRAGON LAIR!?" Chang Gui shouted in shock.
"Shouldn't be too hard. Well, we'll go make our preparations." Yan Shou and Chen Chunhua turned around and headed towards their rooms.
"Why did you invite us to join in their expedition?" Chen Chunhua whispered as she stared at Yan Shou as they walked back towards their rooms.
"I'm quite curious about this Liger lair, that's all." Yan Shou simply said. "Plus, this can be considered a great experience for you."
Chen Chunhua frowned when she heard those words, was he planning to let her fight off a Liger by herself again? She had thought the journey with Yan Shou was going to be easy, but it had turned out to be more difficult than when she was traveling alone. The difference was that she couldn't flee and if, she was in a life or death situation, she had assurance that she wouldn't die.
"Stop frowning and go pack." Yan Shou said as they reached his door.
Chen Chunhua just walked into her room and slammed her doo, without saying a word. Clearly, she wasn't pleased with his plans. If anything, she wished she could just stay at the hide out until Yan Shou returned, but Yan Shou wasn't planning on returning to the hide out afterwards. Chen Chunhua unlike Yan Shou didn't have a spatial ring, so she had to carry all of her luggage in a large cloth, which she tied around her body. She didn't have much clothing, so it was quite convenient, especially if she had to engage in a fight.
It didn't take long before both of them were back in the war room ready to journey into the liger lair. Seeing that both of them were ready, Chang Gui set his men off towards the liger lair. Chang Tai had prepared about 200 men to attack the liger lair, most of them were at the Spirit realm and only two was at the Elemental realm. Chang Gui, himself was only at the Elemental realm. Everyone's insight into the laws were different so it didn't matter if two people were at the Elemental realm, one could still be overwhelmed by the other as long as he had a higher understanding of the laws.
The liger lair was another two mountain tops away from the hide out and would take them about half a day of traveling before they arrived. The plan was to travel to the other mountain tops and set up camp. The next morning, they would head out and attack the liger lair so that the men weren't tired or wary from the journey. They were planning to kill the Alpha liger, so they needed to be at full strength. The liger lair was filled with at least 100 or maybe more ligers, they couldn't underestimate their prey. They Alpha itself required a minimum of two Elemental realm to hold off.
When the group had set up camp for the day, it was already pass noon. Chang Gui, had sent a group of 12 men to scout the area ahead of them. They wanted to ensure that there wasn’t anything crazy going on near the liger lair that could compromise their assault. Even if they killed this Alpha liger, there was plenty of ligers within this mountain range that another one would spawn within a few months. The mountain range wasn't short on Ligers, so didn't harm them to kill one Alpha.
"Senior, here." Chang Gui walked up to Yan Shou, holding out a cooked liger leg, as he was sitting on a log staring up at the clouds.
"Thank you." Yan Shou took the liger leg and bit into it.
"You haven't told me yet, where you two are planning to go to." Chang Gui probed.
"Like I told you earlier today, west."
"No set location?"
"I'm following Chen Chunhua to the Spring of Eternal Youth."
"Spring of Eternal Youth?"
"Yup! For that we must travel pass the Lightning Dragon's lair."
"I'm guessing that this Spring actually exist?"
"Nope."
"How is that possible?" Chang Gui questioned, lost at Yan Shou's response.
"Why?"
"Well, for one, you saved my father 69 years ago, but apparently you haven't aged one year since the day you saved him."
"There are endless possibilities as to why I haven't aged at all. Maybe once you've reached the Demi-God realm can live forever." Yan Shou randomly spouted fake information to Chang Gui.
"The Demi-God realm!? You've actually achieved the realm all humans dream of?"
"Who knows." Yan Shou teased.
In this world, it was impossible for humans to live forever. You can train all you want, but the body will continue to decay no matter even if you've reached the God realm. No person's body was eternal, it was just impossible unless, you have gained insight towards the physical form. Although Yan Shou was at the God realm for Lightning and could manipulate the molecules of his body, he didn't have a deep understanding of it to attain immortality. If he hadn’t struck lucky all those years ago, he probably would have died at the age of 80-100 years old as everyone else did.
"Huh... Senior, you are just too mysterious." Chang Gui sighed in defeat.
"The world itself is mysterious. The question as to why we have the abilities that we do." Yan Shou said as he continued to stare at the boundless sky.
Chang Gui stared shocked at Yan Shou. No one had ever asked these questions, how these abilities came to be? Why was it that no matter how hard they struggled everyone could never achieve immortality and live beyond the age of 100? Who was it that set the standards for cultivating? There were many unanswered questions that just had never been asked before and no one had bothered to ask these questions, but for Yan Shou.
The rest of the journey was quiet. There was small talk here and there, but nothing major. It wasn't long until the group neared the entrance of the liger lair. It was a cave with two ligers sleeping at the entrance. The group sent a scout unit, while the main body remained behind, not to alert the ligers of their presence. Although the fight was going to be chaotic once the fight starts, they wanted the element of surprise to reduce the number of casualties on their side.
"Boss, there are two ligers on guard at the entrance. We couldn't determine how many are inside the cave, but our guess is roughly around 100 ligers. There didn't seem to be another entrance." The scout captain reported.
"It is as I guessed. It seems we will have to do a frontal assault." Chang Tai seemed to be lost in thoughts as he mumbled. In about 10 breathes time he raised his head and commanded, "Prepare the men for battle!"
The scout captain nodded his head and headed off to ready the men for the assault.
This operation wasn't much of a surprise attack, as there was only one entrance. Once they approached the entrance, whether by charging or sneaking, the ligers would catch scent of them. Instead of trying to sneak in, it was better to just charge directly in and kill as many ligers as possible, before the main force of ligers can assemble to counterattack. Luckily the wind was in their favor, otherwise they would've been noticed long ago. The wind was blowing against them throughout the day and had kept their scent hidden.
Chang Gui felt it was appropriate to give a speech before some of them charged towards their deaths. "Men, some of you won't return from this fight, most of you will be injured. But do not fear for we have the greatest power on our side!" Chang Gui pointed at Yan Shou, “We will kill the liger king and become victorious!"
The speech wasn't all that motivating, but the men had gotten the context. None of them cheered as they were about to assault the lair, the last thing they needed was to give away their position. The wind was blowing against them away from the lair, but that didn't mean that if they started cheering it was going to muffle their cheers.
The men drew their weapons and readied themselves. All of them were veterans with fearless expressions. Many of them excited to draw blood, while some eager to test themselves. It was a two on one fight, so there wasn't anything to fear. All of them knew of the liger fight patterns and also their weakness.
Looking at every one of his men in the eyes, Chang Gui turned around and faced towards the liger lair.
"MEN CHARGE!" Chang Gui commanded.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Made some quick fixes as I re-read the chapter. I might just start calling Yan Shou, Yan. The same with Chen Chunhua, but it'll be Chunhua. I like Yan more than Shou or maybe I should rename Yan Shou to Shou Yan.
