yenchin Currently the leading ranking TVB this year is Story Of Yanxi Palace which it import from China and dubbed in Cantonese and air in it main Channel ,it defeat TVB own Drama Another Era etc. It also currently most talked in Malaysia and FB even have a app on it . Unlike LOCH 2017 ,it aired almost the same time with China. It try to promote China as World soft superpower . My mother said It even better than My Fair Princess ,I don't know about The other one but i heard that the story are almost the same. Have you or anyone here watched this drama? Have you watch any Hk drama now? I now watching the HK youku drama Shadow of Justice by Julian Cheung ,a police drama. I haven't watched any of the harem dramas but I probably might try one in the future. A lot of issues have kept me extremely busy these years and I'm kind of falling behind what's popular or simply just skipping things. I've totally phased out from HK Drama and even if I'm planning to watch something, chances are it would probably be some decade old series. Ah Ke has set up a thread for Yanxi over here but it seems that besides reinafu expressing interest no one has responded. wuxiasociety.freeforums.net/post/6238/thread

THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! The other singer is good too, but I think that I prefer Barry Chan's version. I wasn't sure that it was his voice in the series, but as I didn't recognize Samson Shieh's voice either, I guess that I understood well when you wrote that it's Barry Chan who sang the TV version. Samson Shieh's voice is softer while it seems that Barry Chan's voice is more powerful and fits better the series, in my opinion. Anyway, I'm SUPER GLAD that you sent me the pinyin and the characters together, I'm now able to sing it without any mistake !!

Regarding the series Seven swords of Xiluo and New seven swords of Xiluo
I recently watched the movie "Dragon on saholin tower" and near the end of the movie, seven fighters (six men and a woman) appear to help the hero and they refer at themselves as the heroes of Xiluo or somethign like that, and I wonder if this movie could be related to these series (I still haven't had time to watch the one with Gordon Liu...).
Does anyone have any idea on this matter ?

On wikipedia it is mentioned that Chan did sing the opening for his own Dagger Lee series (CTS, 1982). The article is incomplete so there probably needs some more research.

Does anyone have any idea on this matter ? Yes, the film is sometimes titled "The Seven of Xiluo" * ("西螺七崁") . It's probably unrelated to either series, Master Ah Sam/Ah Shan dies in the film, as opposed to the series where Ah Sam mentors the Seven. *(Long discussion.) The word 崁 (Kan/Kam/Kiam) means valley. However, there aren't seven valleys in the Xiluo area, originally, the word was "欠", which means "corner" in Hakka (it means "owe" in Mandarin). Originally it meant seven family rules of the greatest family in Xiluo, as well as seven regions the family designated in the area for defense/support. Gradually the word was changed to 崁. Due to the population of the TV series as well as ignorance regarding the region and Hokkien/Hakka language, it seems that even some people in Taiwan think that there were "Seven Swords of Xiluo".
