Recently I'm reading the book The Great Emperor Kangxi, and Lu Ding Ji (The Deer and Cauldron) - both have Kangxi in it. In Lu Ding Ji, there's a scene where WXB saw Shunzhi Emperor who became a monk at Wutai Shan. And WXB was pretty astonished to see Shunzhi was more handsome and good looking compared to the young Kangxi. I personally don't believe that Shunzhi was good looking. Therefore yesterday during lunch time I browsed on internet and search in Chinese on Baidu : which one more handsome, Kangxi or Shunzhi Then...a few hours later my computer network got a problem. so I closed my browser and asked my IT technician to fix it for me. Then he restarted my computer...and restored my browser. and here then...popped up...the last tabs I've opened. Usually except my work-related webpages which are in Chinese, I don't really use baidu or search anything in Chinese characters (my IT guy only know Chinese). but this time....my IT guy saw me search : which one more handsome, Kangxi or Shunzhi ...written in Chinese. He was confused and looked at me with that kind of look. So embarrassing!! That's my awkward moment. So...what awkard things you do lately?

Admin oh dear! well, at least you were looking up historical figures rather than k-drama male leads! siuyiu : This is where the cultural gap happened. It's normal for Chinese women/men to look up stars or drama male/female leads. That's really normal for them. But looking up historical figures, especially if you're curious with their appearance handsome or not is really weird for them. After this, I'm officially a weirdo for them. LOL.

If you look up a star often, they'll probably think it has something to do with the latest TV series. Better than being caught surfing porn. Is the handsomeness of Kangxi and Shunzi important to a girl? Anyway: Shunzi Young Kangxi Not your usual Xiaoxianrou...

That's why my IT stared at me with amazement. definitely, they don't look like modern xiaoxianrou. LOL. Anyway....I still think that Kangxi looked better than Shunzhi...pictures might not be accurate. Let me just use my imagination

Well ,The important during that time important for girls was power and how many sons she could have so she can become a empress ,not about handsome. Girls during that time cannot choose the husband especially if you born in royal or relative of royal family. Kangxi are actually look more like Steven Ma from TVB,and he was Chosen to play Kangxi in Duke of Mount Deer 1998. And Steven Ma ancestor come from North China, who know they could be related.

Ha ha, Galvatron prime, Xiaoxianrou = 小鮮肉.
To take the definition from Wiktionary:
(neologism, slang) young handsome boy, popularized by the Taiwanese variety-comedy talk show Kangsi Coming.
It's a very popular term in Mainland China too.
Most K-pop or K-drama male stars are 小鮮肉.

@galvatron : 小鲜肉 means young good looking boy Looks like Steven Ma? I hope not. I hope Kangxi looked better, looked like John Lone when he played Kangxi in Kangxi Incognito Travel in 2005 or looked like Wei Qianxiang in DoMD 2014. This is Wei Qianxiang as Kangxi in DomD 2014. He got the look and the charisma as Kangxi. I personally he's the best portrayal of Kangxi in all DoMD adaptations (better than Andy Lau in DoMD 1986) Wei Qianxiang was a xiaoxianrou a few years ago, he's mature now and can't be called xiaoxianrou anymore.
