After Liu Han Wei and Liang Siuyu left him alone, the man removed his mask and wiped his eyes, thinking : " How come Siuyu was here ? And who is this young man with her ?...Hum, that's a luck that it's me who found them instead of her ; she mustn't know that somebody was here...Fortunately, the gas didn't strike them. I wouldn't have forgiven myself if something had happened to Siuyu !! " He took his swords and limped towards the outhouse, worrying about Siuyu...


In the cave where are Reinafu and Ding Hua Fei


Ding Hua Fei was asleep when he suddenly heard Reinafu complaining. He immediately opened his eyes and he trembled when he saw that she was simultaneously sweating and shivering and when he touched her forehead, he began to worry about her health because she was scorching. He carefully shaked her and called her : " Reinafu ? Reinafu ? What's the matter ? " As she didn't answer, he was more anxious and thought : " She gets worse, I absolutely must find a doctor to cure her !" He cogitated for a few seconds, and finally took her in his arms and cautiously got out of the cave. It was twilight and he ran as fast as he could with his precious burden with only one thought in mind : to save Reinafu at all costs. He finally reached the town and asked an old woman who was returning at home where he could find the doctor. She showed him the doctor's house and he knocked on the door. An old man opened the door and he exclaimed : " Doctor, please, help me to save my friend. She has been assaulted and she got worse since a few minutes !" The doctor lead him to a room and he put Reinafu on the bed, and then he asked Hua Fei to leave him alone with the patient. A young maid came and asked Hua Fei to follow her in another room, where she served him some tea. Hua Fei was so nervous that he couldn't drink anything and he strided across the room, watching out for the doctor. This latter finally joined him and he asked him anxiously:"How is she, doctor ? Will you be able to save her ? " " I don't hide you that she has been very badly hurt and it will take a while for her to recover from her wounds. " " But will she live, Doctor ? " " If there is no problem during the next day and night, she will survive, young man, don't worry. " " Can I see her ? " " Who is she for you ?" Hua Fei spontaenously answered : "She's my wife " " Then, you can stay with her in the room. You seem to have walked for a long while. Did you ate something ? " "No, I didn't." " My maid will bring you something to eat in a while, then. If something happens to your wife, don't hesitate to call me. " Ding Hau Fei thanked him and he went to Reinafu's room. He sat near the bed and took one of her hands into his, whispering : " Don't leave me, Reinafu, you must live, I beg you !! " and he was so tired that he finally fall asleep...

Sorry, I was so focused on what I wrote that I didn't thought of the paragraphs. I'll do it next time...

In Cai family's house basement


The old man was praying in front of an altar where there were several funeral tablets when he heard a small noise behind him. He look behind him and discovered a man who was crawling on the ground with difficulties. He ran towards him and helped him to get up and when he saw his face, he exclaimed :

" Young master !! It's you !! It's really you !! I can't believe it !! "

Chef Ying took his arm and whispered : " Help...Help me, Old Lao... I've been wounded by an axe and I lost a lot of blood..."

Old Lao lead him to a bed made with straw in a corner and answered : " Don't worry, Young Master, I'll take care of you. "

He helped him to lay down on the bed and he tore his clothes, hiding a jolt when he discovered how bad the wound looked like. He hurried to clean it and to bandage it and then, he brought some food and water for Chef Ying. This one ate just one or two mouthfuls and drank some water, and then, totally exhausted, he layed again on the bed and closed his eyes, asking with a weak voice : " Where is my mother ? "

Old Lao hesitated a few seconds, and then answered : " I'm afraid she didn't recover her mind...She has gone again with her disguise and other men are dead once again..."

Chef Ying shook his head, saying : " Since my dad's disappearance, she has become mad and I wonder what or who could help her to recover her mind. And I don't understand why she still tries to terrify people to death...When she'll be back, bring her here, I want to talk to her. "

Old Lao noded in agreement and he returned to the altar, while Chef Ying fell asleep...




In the outhouse of the Cai family's house

The limping man looked at the woman who had taken out her disguise and shook his head, saying : " I don't understand why you still use this disguise, Wei Liang, why do you kill these innocent people ? "

Wei Liang had a cynic laugh : " Innocent ? How innocent are they ? Do you forget that they come here only to rob our family's treasures ? I won't let anyone steal all what belonged to my dear husband, and you'll help me to get rid of them until he returns home !! "

" I can't do that anymore, Wei Liang ! Did you forget that I'm also trying to reunite my family ? I can't believe that I'm helping you to kill people ! You must have turned completely mad to do such things ! And what's the use of this gas you use ? "

Wei Liang : " I'm trying to make the perfect gas which will help me to kill all your enemies and force them to tell me where is my husband. I still haven't succeed in my searches and these people are my guinea pigs !"

Once again, her interlocutor shook his head and said : " So many dead...Do you think that my brother-in-law would be happy to know that you became a cold-blooded killer ? And your son, did you think of him ? "

" My son ? Chef Ying has disappeared for so many years, now, I don't even know if he is still alive !! "

" Why don't you look for him, instead of killing people ? "

" Stop bothering me, brother, I'm working on my chemical formulas !! Get away, I need to be alone ! "

Wei Liang's brother look at his sister with a desperate look and he left the outhouse, walking towards the main building of Cai family's house. When he penetrated in it, his eyes were attracted by drops of blood on the ground and he thought:

" How come there is blood here ? Neither Siuyu neither the guy who was with her seemed to be badly hurt, so, it means that there was a third person here...And perhaps he or she is still here...Let's see where these drops of blood will lead me..."


He followed the traces of blood and arrived in front of the wall where there was the secret entry onf the tunnel. He looked carefully at it, thinking : " If I remember well, the mechanism should be somwhere on this part of the wall..." He tried several places and finally, the passage opened and he carefully penetrated in the tunnel.

When they arrived, Liu Han Wei looked at the house and whispered :

" That's incredible, it seems that this house and mine are twin houses ! Let's go inside..."

Siuyu followed him and they were stopped by two servants who exclaimed :

" Who are you ? What are you doing here ? "

With a self-assured tone, Han Wei answered :

" What an impudence !! How dare you talk to me this way !! I'm the young master of this house, don't you recognize me?!!"

The two servants exchanged a panicky look and they rushed into the house, followed by the couple. While one of them invited them to be seated, the other one ran to one of the rooms and a few seconds later, an old woman came in the room where they were. Liu Han Wei was looking at some pictures on the wall thinking : " We have exactly the same ones at home!! What is the meaning of all this ? " when he heard her and he turned towards her.

When she saw him, she opened wide her eyes, put her hands on her mouth and fainted. The servants exclaimed :

" Mistress !! What happens ? Mistress, Mistress !!"

Han Wei and Siuyu joined them and they helped her to sit on a large chair and Han Wei made her breathe a little flask. She opened her eyes and, touching his face with a shaking hand, she whispered :

" That's impossible ! Si Hua, it's really you ? ! "

Han Wei : " You're are mistaken, Madam. I'm not Liu Si Hua, I'm his son, Liu Han Wei."

The old woman looked at him more carefully and suddenly she exploded in tears.

Han Wei looked at Siuyu and they exchanged an inquiring look, wondering what to do.

Finally, the old woman stopped crying, holding Han Wei's hands in her own hands, and he asked her :

" Could you explain me why your house is called Liu's house and why it looks like the twin sister of my house, please ? And what do you have to do with my father ? Do you know him ? "

" I don't understand why you ask these questions ! There is no other Liu's house around here and I'm Liu Si Hua's wife, so, how can you pretend that you are his son ?!! "

Han Wei : " You contradict yourself, Madam ! You tell me that you're my father's wife and that I'm not his son, but just a few seconds ago, you thought that I was my father, so, what happens, here ?!!"

While they were talking, Liang Siuyu suddenly noticed a little girl who was spying behind a pillar and she saw that she had a jade pendant hanging on her belt, and that there was a name written on it. As nobody was paying attention at her, Siuyu joined the little girl, who run in the courtyard, but she caught her and said with a smile :

" Hello, little girl. What's your name ? "

As the girl didn't answer and was sulking, she took the jade pendant in her hand and told the girl :

" What a superb jade pendant you have ! Let me see...Yes, there's a name on it : Ding...Is it your name, little girl ? "

" It's my family name ! My name is Xiao Hua ! And you, what's your name ? "

"I'm Liang Siuyu...Who are you for this old woman you were spying a few seconds ago, Xiao Hua ? "

Xiao Hua : " It's my granny. "

" So, your granny isn't Madam Liu, right ? "

Xiao Hua shook her head and escaped, saying : " Don't tell her that I told you the truth ! You shouldn't have seen the pendant !! "

Siuyu let her go and returned in the room where Han Wei was still trying to know the truth. She came near him and told him what she had learnt in his ear.

He then exclaimed :

" That's enough, Madam Ding ! Don't pretend anymore ! I know that you're not my father's wife, so, you should tell me the truth if you want to avoid going to prison ! I can assure you that I won't hesitate to lead you to the yamen and ask the Judge to torture you in order to know the truth ! "

Once again, Xiao Hua's grand-mother cried, and she finally confessed :

" I met you father when I was 16 years old. We fell for each other, but his parents had already decided to marry him to another girlfrom a rich and powerful family and he was too eager of power and money to struggle for our own love, so, he abandoned me. When he discovered that I was pregnant, he sent killers to kill me and the baby, but I succeeded in escaping them and I took refuge in a temple, where I gave birth to my son Ding Lei. Later, when my son was only 4 years old, your father found us and he apologized to me and offered me this house, where we lived for years without seeing him anymore.

A few months ago, he suddenly appeared and asked us for help. He told us that he had a few problems with a friend of his and that he needed my son to impersonate him for a few months. As Ding Lei's face wasn't too identical to your father's one, your father forced him to wear a skin mask and promised us that the trickery wouldn't last for too long, just the time for your father to clear his name in front of his friend.

Since then, it's been six years already, my son hasn't come back yet, but I learnt that actually, your father was using him as a bandit in order to rob people and get more money and treasures. I tried to send men in order to find my son, but they failed and I'm worrying about him. A few weeks ago, my grand-son Hua Fei returned home after his examinations and he decided to look for his father...Do you know where is my son ?"

Liu Han Wei exchanged a look with Siuyu and he answered with an hesitating tone :

" Well...I'm afraid that the news aren't very good for you, Madam..."

"What...What do you mean ? WHat happened to my son ? "

" He has been killed a few weeks ago...The person would killed him was convinced that she was killing my father and she was ordered to do that by a musician called Andrea...Do you know such a musician and do you know if your son had enemies?"

The old woman cried and shout : " That's impossible ! My dear son Lei can't be dead ! Who killed him ? ! Why ? I don't know any Andrea nor any musician and my son was an honest guy before your father forces him to rob ! It's your father's fault if my son is dead ! I must kill you ! Servants, kill him, kill them both ! "

A dozen of servants ran into the room and they attacked Han Wei and Siuyu. The couple just stopped their attacks without kicking and they escaped, running as far as they could and the servants finally gave up the pursuit.

Totally devastated by what he had just learnt about his father, Liu Han Wei heavily sat under a tree and, hiding his face in his hands, he whispered :

" I can't believe it ! I can't believe that my father was such a Machiavellian man !! Using his own son to rob people and to impersonate him in order to save his own life !! That's not the father I always knew when I was a child and a teenager ! That's impossible that he could do such bad things ! I can't believe it !! "

Liang Siuyu sat near him and said :

" She seemed to be sincere and her pain when she learnt her son's death wasn't a fake one, Han Wei...I wonder what is the meaning of all that...When we first met, you told me that your father was my father's best man and that my father trusted him so much that he had asked him to protect his wife and his daughters when they were attacked...Do you think that it was in order to clear his name in front of my father that he asked Ding Lei to impersonate him ? Does it mean that my father is still alive and wants to get revenge on your father ? "

She suddenly hid her face on his shoulder and cried :

" If our families bear a grudge against each other, that means that we won't be able to live together and I won't be able to bear that, Han Wei !! I don't want to be split up with you ! "

He hug her and whispered :

" I won't let this happen, Siuyu ! Even if our fathers are enemies, I won't let you go, I love you too much to accept this ! "

She suddenly thought of the jade bracelet on her anckle and she showed it to him and exclaimed :

" Help me to get rid of this, Han Wei, I don't want to be Chef Ying's wife !! "

They tried to take off the bracelet in vain and he decided :

" Let's go home, we'll ask our blacksmith to cut it, hence, you'll be free..."

She agreed and they took the direction of the real Liu's house...

It seems to me that all the Chinese series/movies I watched until now had also as complicated plot as mine...And I don't even talk about Jin Yong's Condor Heroes (I only finished the first part...)or Gu Long's Chu Liu Xiang...

Scandalous ? They didn't even kiss (unless I forgot what I wrote previously ; sometimes, I have to read again what was written in order to avoid mistakes) !! And in the series I watched, there are also young couples reunited by fate and who travel alone and finally fall in love too...Of course, I'm not very familiar with the uses in China at that time, which explains what I wrote...

You should prepare some aspirins, because more twists are to come in the plot (big smiles...I don't know how to use the smileys in this forum, sorry.) !!!

i never said the plots of existing series/movies/novels don't give me headaches as well from their complicated plots.  

as for the scandalous behaviour, it's an interesting dilemma: the segregation of the sexes is the norm in "ancient" china--and according to old fuddy-duddies like confucius.  women stay at home and are only seen by men who are their kin or their husbands and sons (and their husbands male relatives during family gatherings).  single men and women most certainly should not see each other or be seen together anywhere.  however, jianghu/wulin heroes and heroines are mostly exempt from this stricture--after all, heroines can't otherwise go on adventures and kill baddies.  even so, casual touching is still not deemed polite--shows a lack of breeding and proper conduct.  the heroes, especially, should only touch any part of any female only when necessary and even then, they should hesitate before contact.  those are the rules, anyway.  in reality, touching is common--especially in adaptations because, well, it makes for better drama if the heroine throws her wailing self into the strong embrace of the hero and all that shit.  but readers/viewers are still expected to go "tsk, tsk, such unseemly behaviour" and shake their heads while grinning the whole time, fully aware of their own hypocrisy.
