anyway...I like the name of your West Chamber Confectionery. But I just realized...that the acronym would be WC Confectionery Still it is a good name though! Arggh - I was not thinking clearly enough when I registered the name. Anyway, I do wash my hands afterwards.... occasionally.

And so it came to be that I passed by a shop and bought more moon cake figurine moulds... These I bought in Hong Kong in a recent visit...

This was what they had to say about the care for these wooden moulds. Soak them in oil for three days before use, etc. - heck they might as well say I had to soak them in oil kept in a brazier for 7 x 7 = 49 days. My solution was much better. I filled the cavity with oil, and put the mould in the microwave, full power, for 60 seconds. Then I let it cool, top up with oil if necessary, and repeat the process in the microwave for another 60 seconds, full power. Then pour away the oil, wash and dry - it is now ready to be used. Technology is your friend (but you need to know how to use it).

Got off my ass and made some mooncakes. I thought I should give the piglets a rest, so I made some crab shaped and tortoise shaped ones instead. And a close up... After baking

Made some piglets - used a mould. Made a batch that was a bit overcooked - tanned, I call them. You can see the contrast. This batch of tanned piglets were boy piglets.

cute! ahahaha, are those boy piglets anatomically correct according to pigs? I presume so, I have never had a close encounter of that type with pigs - of either gender.
