Never heard of him. I'm not into hip hop or rap songs
Anyway, I'm making comment on that yahoo news :
However, ethnic Chinese and Indians have often complained of being treated unfairly in jobs and education and are denied full freedom of religion. ---> Well, it's true that the Chinese and Indians in Malaysia are discriminated. Currently the Chinese Malaysian population has been decreased a lot compared to 20-30 years ago.
The video, "Oh My God," was released last month. It features Wee and three other singers rapping in Mandarin in front of various places of worship and using the word "Allah," which means God in the Malay language. Enraged Malay Islamic activists lodged police complaints against Wee, saying the video was rude and disrespectful to Islam.
Wee has defended the video, saying it was meant to promote religious harmony.
I do believe that the song and video was meant to promote religious harmony. But those Islamic hardliners won't believe that. That rapper didn't only said Allah, but also Halleluyah, Om Mani...(Hindhu) and Namo Amituofou (budhist), and none of those CHristians or Budhists complain. So why only Islams who complained? They are just morons and irrational peoples who even won't let any other religion use the word "Allah" cause they think that the word "Allah" is exclusive for Islamic God only.
Poor rapper. He better migrate and find a better place to live!
He become popular on Malaysia when his make this video Negarakuku in 2007 ,ten years ago I listen it now again. Admin ,it take more than 2 month to see your next post on your next return ,busy on your job now ?

reviving this thread instead of starting a new one...
i normally avoid the singing competition shows like america's got talent. there's enough suffering in life that i will not voluntarily seek out more.
that being said, i've been watching the chinese singing competitions on YT, the ones where they get professional singers to compete, and it ends up being more a mini concert on tv than anything else. purists will say WTF but i'd rather enjoy the music and the talent of real musicians! and wow, i have to say i'm really impressed. shows like "我是歌手 i am a singer", "聲入人心 Super-Vocal", "梦想的声音 sound of my dreams", or even "蒙面歌王 masked singer" are such pleasures to watch. the level of skill is fabulous, and the singers are really branching out to embrace western pop--they'll sing songs in english, spanish, italian, etc., even cantonese, or else they'll sing mandarin songs in western styles like jazz or latin beat. of course, their pronunciation isn't exactly right, but they try! by comparison, HK has had a longer history of pop culture, but there's just no comparison in terms of the quality of singing.
here are some new voices (to me) i'm really admiring:
sun nan 孙楠
elvis wang 王晰
jane zhang 張靚穎
zhou shen 周深 -- his voice is a bit of an acquired taste, but his technique is fab
and these interesting pairings!
and there are well-established singers in the ranks, like chyi yu 齐豫
hacken lee 李克勤
and my god, sandy lam! what started out as "chickie sound" (squeaky, no volume) has matured like fine wine:
This is my favourite music that I've been listening - I listen both ocarina and guqin version.
This piece is one of the OST of The Secret Story of Kangxi. Watching the clips with Wallace Chung as a Nalan Xingde (the poet) is entertaining. But Kangxi in this series is such a disaster. Please...don't ever watch this series. This series really disgraced Kangxi. My personal belief that this series title should be The Story of Nalan Xingde rather using Kangxi's name as the title.
