Thank you very much !!
If the episode of ten assassins I found is " Ci Ma ", then, it should be related to the Shaws' Blood brothers and the series Ma' s assassination with David Chiang, since both of them share the same title with this episode.
Also, thank you very much for the cast of Three kingdoms. I didn't notice Damian Lau, but Poon Chi Man was very young, there !

reinafu i'm pretty sure that damian lau's part is a minor one--this may even have been his earliest role! i'd have to re-visit his fanpage to be sure, but yeah, he would've been very young back then. and yes, the RTV version of Ci Ma is most likely the same storyline as the Shaw movie--i vaguely remember they're the same era (qing dynasty) and that there was a lot of fighting and killing involved. wasn't ti lung in it, too?

Yes, the Shaws' movie tells the story of two friends (David Chiang and Chen Kuan Tai) who rob bandits, if I'm not mistaken. They meet Ti Lung, who they try to rob, but they finally become friends. Then, they become more and more famous for bullying the other clans of bandits and Ti Lung falls for Chen Kuan tai's wife (Ching Li). Finally, he becomes an officer and ask his friends to come with him, but his love for Ching Li becomes stronger and he finally orders the murder of Chen Kuan Tai. When David Chiang discovers that, he seeks revenge for hsi friend and finally kills Ti Lung, before being executed for this murder.
I guess that the first scene of the episode of Ten assassins I found shows the murder of " Ti Lung's " character and that the rest of the episode is a flashback explaining the reasons of the murder...

I just finished to watch ATV's Princess Changping. I had the luck to get a custom subtitled of this series. What a GREAT series! I loved it! However, I wonder if there have been cut scenes, since there are a lot of scenes shown on the beginning and ending credits of some episodes, that weren't shown during the series. This is a so sad story for most of the characters. And Max Mok, what an evil character, here! He made me shout at him and have murder ideas towards him! Does anyone know who was the child playing Bao Yi? And who was the actress playing Duan Ge Ge? There were a lot of familiar faces here, but I don't know their names. Also, who played the other maid besides Candy Wen? Once again, I loved this series a lot. I had the Mandarin original dvds or vcds, I don't remember, but watching it with English subtitles, even if there were some mistakes or misspellings, was a great improvement.

I think David Chiang's character died being executed by Death of a Thousand Cuts or probably something more tame but I had the impression he would be mutilated to death.

Yu On On played Princess Chiew Yen(dunno her mandarin name) and Chen Yuan Yuan. Speaking of Princess Changping, Michelle Yim/Mei Suet just acted in a local drama series and was here momentarily. I don't remember the full name of the Yuan character(David Chiang) but it was a rip off of Yuan Zheng Chi. Well, not exactly a rip off since the character's behaviour seems different but the idea of him avenging his father is taken from Sword Stained With Royal Blood. I remember the eunuch who practiced Iron Shirt having his head flying through the air when the Yuan character beheaded him. Max Mok Siu Chung's character was evil but I found it fun keeping track with all the new skills he learned and seeing his advancement in kung fu from time to time. Yuan didn't have a good ending as he would become a cripple but I'm not gonna spoil the ending here. Also Max Mok was kind of brave to "hold" the snake with his mouth. Is that for real or is that special effects?

david chiang's character was yuen yeuk fei 袁若飛 and yes, he has a similar backstory to yuan chengzhi in that they have the same historical figure as their father, the ming general Yuan Chonghuan. and there's some revenge subplot in princess chang ping about this. i could've sworn we had a separate thread for the tv series but i guess that was in the old forum. max mok probably held a real snake, since we're talking early 1980s when special effects weren't that advanced. just look at the special effects of the six meridian swords in the 1982 demi gods, semi devils. duan ge ge was played by 阮佩珍 yuen pui chun, who also portrayed 姬瑤花 ji yaohua in The Four Constables and 獨孤慧中 dugu huizhong in Dynasty. 黎詩敏 lai si man played the other maid. actor 劉一帆 lau yat fan played the eunuch who got his head chopped off and was the adoptive father of max mok's character. actor 張瑛 cheung ying (who has his own thread on this forum) played the emperor chongzhen. wiki doesn't name the child actor who played the bao yi. as for the scenes in the opening/ending credits that never showed up in the series: this is because they had to have some scenes already filmed to put together for the opening/ending credits, but by the time they got to those bits in the actual series, RTV/ATV re-scripted and re-shot them, with different costumes and stuff, so those "promo" footages never made it to the final cut of the series.

anyone who's watched LOCH81 & ROCH83 will recognize the wu sangui actor yeung chak lam 楊澤霖 as ouyang feng. the dorgon actor wong wai 王偉 has also played many well-known roles, and you can look at his thread in the forum for the lists. the daughter of li zicheng is singer teresa cheung 張德蘭 who sang the themesongs for princess chang ping as well as the themesongs for ROCH83.

David played Yuan Ruo Fei, according to the subtitles. Yes, he was able to decapitate the bad eunuch Cao Chun Hun because he had thrown a weapon into his mouth while he was laughing, as it was his only weak point. Well, Yuan Ruo Fei and Wu Sangui are the only old Ming dynasty characters to stay at the end, I don't think that I spoil too much by saying that, and the little prince is saved, which was the main purpose. That's so funny that David cut his right arm exactly the same way he cut it in The New one-armed swordsman, and that he also stays in an inn for a while before returning to the fights, exactly as in the Shaws' movie. Also, I wonder who were the actors playing Li Zicheng, Liu Zongming and Liu Jingting, and also the bad prince who previously "owned" Chen Yuan Yuan. I don't know if her real ending is the same as in the series, but if it's faithful to her real life, well, she had a very sad ending too...

Thanks! Yes, I recognizes Cheung Ying ans Chongzhen, and Yeung Chak Lam. Thanks for the other names and the explanation about the missing/different scenes. The childs playing Bao Yi and the little prince were very good, I felt so sad about Bao Yi's fate!

In the series her life was cut short but according to wikipedia ,one source states in real life she lived till old age in seclusion with Wu's son which was her stepson. Another general joined them.

reinafuLi Zicheng = 麥天恩 mak tin yan Liu Zongming = 馬宗德 mah chung tak Liu Jingting = 梁漢威 leung hon wai i will need the actual name of the bad prince--it's been years since i watched the series. also, no guarantee that he's listed in the cast list on the wiki, since he's such a minor character.
