according to wikipedia, Reincarnated was first written as a tv series script, then later after it became popular it's rewritten as a novel. Pretty interesting Still according to wikipedia, on the series, there are 3 different ending for this : 1. The following television series tell different conclusions of the lead character Wen. In the 1979 60-episode RTV series Dragon Strike (天龍訣), another friend of Wen helps the Zhengde Emperor to fight his enemies. Then the emperor kills him. In the story, Wen is killed by one of his lovers. 2. In the 1984 Taiwanese (CTS) television series Reincarnated II (天蠶再變), a rebooted follow-up of the 1978 Hong Kong series, a friend of Wen fights a man with powerful marital arts and wants to be the emperor. Finally he wins. 3. In the 1993 30-episode ATV television series Reincarnated II (天蠶變之再與天比高), another rebooted follow-up of the 1978 series, Wen is in fact still alive but regained his previous looks (his face changed when he got "reincarnated"). Wen teaches the reincarnated arts to a successor and dies standing after a battle. so I wonder which one actually is the real ending I watched the 78 version, and it's so annoying that they made Yun FeiYang died like that. His death was really an undeserved death for a hero.

from Wikipedia
Wong wrote a prequel to "Reincarnated" in the Hong Kong magazine Knightly (武侠世界) about the origin of the Wudang level eight martial art.[3]
so that makes the Reincarnated series to 5 ?

Admin anyone Do the novel have mention Yun Fei Yang have face change like the ATV version? I only read in news in mention the fans are very disappointed that Norman Tsui was replaced in Episode 42 onwards . And I read newspaper in 1992 it mentions Dragon Strike have relegated to spin-off by ATV And Reincarnated 2 1993 was named as original sequel to Reincarnated 1 1979 with Norman Tsui get his face back, ignoring the Dragon Strike version . What do you think?

@galvatron it's honestly been too long since i read the novel that i can't remember. and don't remember that the tv series came first, then the novel. and the "replacement" of norman tsui was his own damned fault for bailing on the series partway through so RTV/ATV either didn't finish the series or found a way to resolve the issue--hence the new actor and the "change of face" after reaching the pinnacle of the tian can gong.
dragon strike was always set in the same universe as reincarnation, though, of course, they killed off yun feiyang early on and had pai piao's character as the lead and following his storyline.
i don't know enough about reincarnated 2 to comment on it.

Reincarnated II in 1993 was basically another version of a remake of Dragon Strikes. The storyline picks up after when the original 1978 Reincarnated ends. The storyline starts with Wan Fei Yeung and Dugu Mou Dik in a duel, while he is pining over his sister/lover's (Fung's) death. Wan wins of course but he is severely injured and all thinks that he is dead. Fu Heung Kwan comes and sees no trace of him and thinks that he is dead. Then fast forward to a few years later down the road, a new adventure starts and a new story. The storyline is a bit different from Dragon Strikes, only the characters names are similar. Wan dies in both versions, Fung dies in both versions (she doesn't appear here), Tsui Ting Feng gets together with Heung Kwan, gets poisoned and dies in both versions by the Emperor. Nangong family is not in Reincarnated 1993, while the Tang family is not in Dragon Strikes. Luk Dan is kind in the old version, but he turns evil in Reincarnated. Siu Chi is the lead actor in both versions.
The Taiwanese version in 1984 is also another remake of Dragon Strikes, as that one too picks up after the original 1978 version. The Singapore version Web of Deceit is a remake/spinoff/copy of Dragon Strikes, but all the characters names are changed and title is different. Maybe the same producer?

As long as I remember, there's no face changes in the novel. And if I'm not mistaken, the replacement from Norman Tsui to Gu Guangzong was because Normal Tsui getting ridiculous in his demand (salaries, etc) because of the popularity of the series. Therefore the producers and directors had to kick him out since they could not meet his demand. And they were lucky that the storyline when he's kicked, exactly when Yun Feiyang had just finished his training of 天蚕功. Therefore Yun Feiyang changed after he's done and out of his coccoon.
