EVOLUTION OF CHINESE WOMEN’S CLOTHING When one thinks of Chinese traditional clothes, the qipao 旗袍 immediately comes to mind. In fact, the qipao was originally only worn by Manchurians and only spread to China in the Qing dynasty after the Manchurians invaded the Ming dynasty, as almost all the previous dynasties were Han ruled. We came across a fantastic illustration by N. Duong, of Chinese women’s fashion throughout history, from the Han Dynasty to the modernized qipao. www.theworldofchinese.com/2013/06/evolution-of-chinese-womens-clothing/

I know shoes is not exactly clothing, but I am sure many are thankful the bound feet had gone out of fashion.
