through the years, whether via reading the books themselves or participating in forum discussions, we've picked up some facts and interesting trivia about GL's stories. i thought it'd be nice to compile them into one handy thread. i'll just jot down some--please feel free to add whatever you want! (1) LXF is set in the ming dynasty because of the following evidence: (a) the duel between XMCX and YGC occurred on the roof of taihe dian, the tallest bldg in the forbidden city in beijing. the forbidden city was built in the ming dynasty. (b) (from gulongfan1) the japanese ruler toyotomi hideyoshi is mentioned in book 6 (c) a few other WS members surmised that the emperor that LXF talked to was likely the wanli emperor (2) CLX is believed to be the descendant of tie zhongtang (da qi yingxiong zhuan) (3) XMCX's son and LXF's student had a duel that resulted in double fatality (both fell off a cliff) (4) jing wuming was always known to be a left-handed swordsman, a rarity, but after his left arm was disabled, it is discovered that he can wield the sword with his right hand--with even more speed and devastating power! so, he is an ambidextrous swordsman

On (2). The name of LXF's student is Hua Man Tian (花滿天). Maybe it's HML's son?

Although some of u may actually knew it long time ago, but still for those that doesn't has a chance to read most of the Gulong novels but wish to know more about the characters mentioned in other novels, here's the place for it. Do post anything u thing that is "new" or it's an exciting discovery here.
In 彩环曲 Cai Huan Qu, the white shirt man that keeps wearing on a mask through out the whole novel is actually Xue Yi Ren from Chu Liu Xiang! What's more? u can read about the young Shi Guang Yi from CLX in 彩环曲 Cai Huan Qu too. I didn't even know she knew 天武神经 when i'm reading CLX.
In 护花玲 Hu Hua Ling, in 诛神岛, NanGong Ping found the 灵位 of Liu He Ting 夫妇(from 彩环曲 Cai Huan Qu) and 裴珏(from 孤星转). Never thought of their Kungfu could be so great.

Li Xun Hwan's legendary dagger was mentioned in the Angry Small Horse. It said that though Small Horse (the main character)'s fist isn't as fast as Li Xun Hwan's Dagger, it's still fast.

Li XunHuan legendary dagger is mentioned so many times actually.
GL wanted to create the mystere surrounding Dagger Li, the legacy of his dagger was mentioned in Bian Cheng Lang Zhi, Jiu Yue Ying Fei, Tian Ya Ming Yue Dao, and a few more I couldn't remember.
I can't remember any other legends that was mentioned more than Li XunHuan, his legacy spanned throughout many generations of GL heroes, Shen Lang came close.

Regarding (4), wasn't it the other way around? I read the translation and it said that though people he had always used his left hand, his right hand was actually faster than his left hand.
