This is one of my fave TVB wuxia series of Jin Yong adaptation beside the famous Condor Trilogy. Flying Fox 1985 has great cast, good ending and I notice all actresses here are so pretty here, Angie Chiu (Ma Chunhua), Jamie Chik (Mrs.Hu), Margie Tsang (Miao Ruolan), Rebecca Chan (Nan Lan), Myrta King Doi Yum (Cheng Lingsu) and Elaine Chow Sau Lan (Yuan Zhiyi). TVB had remade once in 1999 which is totally crappy series, miscast and too many modification in terms of storyline.

One of the points in this story that I have taken to heart is that the basics are important.
Hu Fei learnt the complexities of the Hu family sabre-play, but he lacked the basics so he was not that effective. It was later that he managed to learn the basics and he improved.
I like the actor who played Hu Fei/Wi Fei.
