The Return of the Condor Heroes (1983)

The Return of the Condor Heroes is a Hong Kong television series adapted from Louis Cha's novel of the same title. It was first broadcast on TVB Jade from 31 October 1983 to 6 January 1984 in Hong Kong.

rewatched bits of this series recently. and only realized, this time 'round, that, in the scene where YG and XLN are atop the snowy mountain in that little cabin with baby GX and the two traitorous beggar clan members come seeking shelter, the actors use their actual names to disguise their characters' identities. he calls her "lin mui (lian mei) 蓮妹" and she calls him "wah gor (hua ge) 華哥". (for those of you who aren't aware, andy and idy's chinese names are lau tak-wah (liu dehua) and chan yuk-lin (chen yulian), respectively.

Return of the Condor Heroes was never one of my favourites. Too much talking, not enough fighting for my liking - well, overall anyway.

I did not realise this was the subtheme. The main theme I recognised.
